It was Rick James and know it to be true she talked about it personally that day when rick had just past and she was talking about him, and she said knew he loved her, and she loved him that was her soul mate but their to stay together for personal reasons and he knew what they were? and that's the truth? i heard it on the radio from her own voice and she said and I knew he loved me as well!

This one of the most beautiful songs ever written she loved this man? how many women fell like teena marie felt she loved this man they could never meet eye to eye! mainly only Rick part! so sad it is true she loved this man so much but rick wasn't the king of man that was true and Teena wasn't haven't it! i heard personally on the radio right before Saffire the album, and Rick had passed and she said she knew Rick loved her and she loved him also and will always but they couldn't be together!
