theres no old or new style, nothing has changed style wise besides trying to get better at every single part of it. you just like the old songs bc youve had time to make them part of your life, and new shit is scary, so it worries you. this song is no dif than something like "salvia plath" which was also built entirely from samples & vocals, it's just btter recorded because i'm not a child anymore thankfully. but listen to the album, give it time to become part of your life the way the old albums did, and youll understand that theres no division between them besides literal quality (and even that isn't always dividing them, for the scuzzier parts)

yeah he played with us for years but wasn't on any of the older records, besides one song (this was mostly because of the timing, but also because i've always been someone who works best when i work as much on my own as i can - if i could play drums well enough, i would probably try to do that too whenever possible. however, i cant lol. i try to be very open about this to anyone i play with & make sure they're comfortable with it & never feel slighted) alec and i don't play together anymore, though ill always be glad we did for so long.
however, as far as core songwriting/arrangement stuff goes, thats always been me (with help from eric) and now me + a lot of help from sean, who i've been working with since 2006 or 07
