Tears For Fears - Queen Of Compromise Lyrics

It's no ordinary mind
That can read between the lines
And can say which way the fates are fating
When you're skating on thin ice
Crocodiles in paradise
Just below your feet they lie in waiting
You don't have to take my side
But these arms are open wide
There is something in your eyes still glowing
It's your husband, it's your wife
Your money, it's your life
It's that special kind of knowing

It happens all the time I read your mind
Where dreams take second place
I'll invade your space
Your secrets will be mine
What's your sign?

There are way too many flies
On the queen of compromise
'Cos she'll never know the acts she's selling
She could try me out for size
'Cos there's something on the rise
And it might just help reduce the swelling
We won't need to publicise
I don't think that would be wise
So this something we must hide
So it can keep on growing
It's your husband, it's your wife
Your money, it's your life
It's that special kind of knowing

It happens all the time I read your mind
Where dreams take second place
I'll invade your space
Your secrets will be mine
What's your sign?

It's so good to be alive
I can count from one to five
But I can't control the way things are going
It's your husband it's your wife
Your money, it's your life
It's that special kind of knowing

This song should have been on the original 1995 pressing of the album. I originally had this album on cassette and later on CD after my tape deck eat the intro in to "Sorry" and I found myself having to splice tape. Which ever A&R Rep at Sony's UK branch assigned to handle this one album should have realized that this song's potential as a major smash hit, and a huge comeback for Tears For Fears had they decided to put it on the original 1995 pressings and released it as an A-side instead of the B-side that it got relegated to. I can't believe this song's been around since 1995, and yet I'm only hearing it for the first time here in 2019. Guess this is what Roland means by "Queen of Compromise." It sort of reminds me of Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey What Can I Do." Originally released as a B-side, yet many classic rock radio DJ's flipped over "Immigrant Song" and played the B-side instead.

Raul was an album thats so unprerentious. Its funny to hear how great the bsides are yet I can see it didn't fit the grain of the album. That said this is s nice treat.
