Taylor, James - That Lonesome Road Lyrics
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself,
Don't turn your head back over your shoulder.
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon is shining high above the trees.
If I had stopped to listen once or twice, if I had closed my mouth and opened my eyes.
Carry on, never mind feeling sorry for yourself.
It doesn't save you from your troubled mind.
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself,
Don't turn your head back over your shoulder.
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon is shining high above the trees.

This was the last song we sang at our 8th-grade performance... so lovely
This is tough to listen to sometimes.
I'm 499 like I feel sad now
I love this song
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself,
Don't turn your head back over your shoulder.
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon is shining high above the trees.
If I had stopped to listen once or twice, if I had closed my mouth and opened my eyes.
If I had cooled my head and warmed my heart, I'd not be on this road tonight.
Carry on, never mind feeling sorry for yourself.
It doesn't save you from your troubled mind.
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself,
Don't turn your head back over your shoulder.
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon is shining high above the trees.
This song is so relateable and it makes me so sad

Nothing against Mr. Taylor but there is a hidden track on Jack McDowell's record featuring Eddie Vedder on this song. It is so good. Trumps this, IMO. ✌🏻️
Eddie Vedder would disagree
A common road.
Beautiful vocal harmonies with Jennifer Warnes....
My first thoughts when hearing this were: "What the fu....??"
THAT should be the default reaction to a great song.

raptorsause that was great. I could still harmonize the female part with that. It made me smile.
This has been performed at Mr. john Belushi's funeral.
@Kakha Khmelidze Yes, that's where I know it from. I wanted to hear what it sounded like and now I know.
I remember it well. I saw Belushi in an after hours club in Manhattan a few weeks before he died...I really felt so bad that he died so young..I was a 19 year old kid...so much life he lost, all these years!
Looking back ... through music !!
