Taylor, James - Golden Moments Lyrics

Now if all my golden moments could be rolled into one
They would shine just like the sun for a summer day
And after it was over, we could have it back again
With credit to the editor for striking out the rain very clean
And all it really needed was the proper point of view

No one's gonna bring me down, no one's gonna stop me now

Now I gathered up my sorrows and I sold them all for gold
And I gathered up the gold and I threw it all away
It all went for a good time and a song, come on
The laughter was like music, it did float my soul along for a while
And all it really needed was the proper point of view

No one's gonna reach me here, no one's gonna know I'm gone

You may think I must be crazy and I guess you must be right
But I know the way I feel today is out of sight
I do not trust my senses to remember your name
Without corrective lenses, things are never twice the same anyway
And all it really needed was the proper point of view

No one's gonna bring me down, no one's gonna stop me now
No one's gonna reach me here, no one's gonna know I'm gone

I love this song as well. In my down times, this song I play and sing as loud as my heart will allow me to.

    J.... D....

Where and when did you first hear this? Same for me...:)

    J.... D....

I discovered this song late in life. It had to be in 2011...lol (real late in life because I listened to his music as a kid in the 70's) I hit rock bottom and began turning my life around. It has been a journey but I am in a much better place :)

  16. J.... B....

There's so much pain in those lyrics. What year did he finally get clean? Thankfully, he can't write a song like that anymore...

    J.... B....

He got clean in the 80s it started in 67 and he was addicted for around 18 years.

    J.... B....

wow...I know Fire and Rain was written after a friend overdosed. Is that correct?

    J.... B....

She "fell or jumped" in front of a subway train in NYC, according to a newspaper story.

    J.... B....

James has stated in interviews that he was not clean until 1982. How can anyone at such a young age just arrive and be so complete an Artist? It is beyond my comprehension. Hooked or straight, somehow gems like this one kept being written. Amazing.

  17. B.... ....

Man I love the chords he plays in the hook lines. Wonderful track

  18. J.... L....

    My favorite JT deep track

  19. D.... M....

beautiful ,follow up to shower the people 1976.

    D.... M....

This song is actually a follow-up from Lighthouse, a song outta his previous album (Gorilla).

    D.... M....

Daniel McGorray a lot of these comment are how I would put this song as well wow.

    D.... M....

Or a continuation for that matter. I can imagine him segueing from Lighthouse to this one very smoothly, since they're both in the same pitch.

  20. s.... ....

if all my golden moments.... Classic !

  21. W.... W....

My all-time favorite JT song. Thanks so much for posting!
