Tammy Wynette - No One Can Take His Place Lyrics

You tell me that I'm pretty and you want me for your own
And you can't understand the reason I won't go along
You want to know about the man that I am faithful to
And so I'll tell you why to him I'm true

His hands are rough from working hard to keep my dresses new
And as long as I have known him he's never been untrue
And everyday he makes me feel my life is not a waste
To me he's really special and no one can take his place

I know he must get tired from workin' hard days in the sun
There may be silver in his hair but he's still the only one
The night our baby girl was born the tears ran down his face
And he whispered I still love you and no one can take his place
These are a few good reasons why no one can take his place

I think for Tammy, no one could ever take George Jones' place. Yes they divorced and they both remarried but I'll always believe the love of their lives was each other .. and they both loved Georgette with all their hearts.

Yes it is. She could sing & put words into lyrics like none other. If it had notes she could hit it. Truly thankful for all she did for music.

Thanks so for this file - I hadn't heard this song for many years. Just listen to that perfect voice - she had a personality to match. I love you so Tammy!

OMG this is it!!!! I heard this song on the radio once SEVERAL years ago on a rural station that played classic country--even album cuts like this one....for years I've been trying to place the Tammy song that had the line "the night our baby girl was born....."
