I'm not sold on the spoken word narration. I feel like it should've been a bit more poetic - fitted into the song a bit more. I think it was also a bad idea to make it sound like an 11 year old kid cheaply modifying his voice to try to sound like bit-crushed Darth Vader.
Otherwise though, this song is fantastic. I think Kevin's vocals are great, and the "I always wondered if you wanted my love" refrains are some of the best vocals on the whole album. Super catchy.

My first exposure to Tame Impala was on SNL 3/30/19. I have been living under a rock (musically speaking) the last 10 years. I love the ethereal quality to his music and Kevin Parker's singing voice carries a distinct John Lennon quality to it. I grew up listening to the Beatles. Loved his voice. The creative genes Kevin has could be rooted in John Lennon's spirit.

I’ve always known their 2 most popular songs. The Less I Know The Better & New Person Same Old Mistakes. I just saw them on SNL too last night (rerun) and my mom goes “They’re really good who are they?” I thought she probably likes them cause they sound like the Beatles during those performances. I now can’t stop listening to them. Their music brings me to a different place.. it’s weird.
