Tallest Man On Earth, The - Rivers Lyrics
So there's longing in the shoulders now
There was a wildness in that time
Can't we now say
Oh sweet were the hours
But hours to find
There was no straightness to our line
Gravel in hand
Darling, we're moving the mountains around
This is the fire of leaving pains
When the love is gone, but the need remains
Into the shivering cold of day
When the house is gone, but the street remain
Oh I guess it's true
I guess these rivers never knew
And so finally the night time comes
There is no lot to cast a blame
No need to hide
No fear who I'd meet
In some grocery lane
This is the fire of leaving pains
When the love is gone, but the need remains
Into the shivering cold of day
When the house is gone, but the street remain
Oh I guess it's true
I guess these rivers never knew
And I'll sing of seasons til you turn me off
I see the way of letting go
They'll be the same
And whatever changes
These changes I know
This is the fire of leaving pains
When we're not that strong and the need remains
Into the shivering lights of day
When the house is gone, but the fields remain
Oh I guess it's true
I guess these rivers never knew

Hey everyone if you like Kristian's sound check out my page, just released my first music video (an indie-rock tune) and full album coming October 1st! Album is indie-rock meets folk, and my next video features a much more folk vibe. Seattle's next big thing..

I think he's re-centered nicely after pretty much cutting loose and experimenting on Dark Bird. much more focused ambience.
and in turn, redeemed himself. because tbh that album was sorta mediocre by his standards.
Strange. I found Dark Bird to be the #1 best breakup album of all time.
The song is a helluva lot sadder if you know that he and his wife recently divorced.
Recently? That was a year if not two years ago and he's been with someone else for a while now.
Doesn't mean he didn't write it about the experience
@thewolfPrince Of course he did, especially in Dark Bird Is Home but I'm just saying the split was definitely not recent.
*sighs* what a relaxing little tune.
To know him is to love him. :-)
and to love him is to need him... EVERYWHERE
