Talking Heads - Moon Rocks Lyrics
Flying saucers, levitation
Yo! I could do that
Get ready, for heavy duty
Go one, give it a chance
I saw your hair start to curl
You better wait for a while
So take your hands out of your pockets
And get your face adjusted
I heard it, somebody lied
And I'm staring out the window
Gonna let this thing continue
In it's natural time
Roundheads squareheads
Get settled in
There's a voice that starts to mumble
Woo! It's starting to sing
Protons, neutrons
I ate a rock from the moon
Got shicked once; shocked twice
Let's see, what it can do
Man in the moon, moon in the man
I got a rock in my throat
Upside, up side down
My tummy start to talk . . . (what it say?)
Gonna rock it 'till I shock it
Gonna kick it 'till I drop it
Woo! Love at first sight
You can kick it, You can poke it
Ooh, I think you broke it
What about that!
Skin from a snake, blood from a stone
You know, that ain't no lie
I got hundreds of expressions
Try to make a good impression
Woo! Right between the eyes
I don't mind - let me go
Sounds inside - I don't know
Let me be - why not stay
I feel numb - let me play
I got wild imagination
Talkin' transubstantiation
Any version will do
I got mass communication
I'm the human corporation
I ate a rock from the moon
Moon in the rock, rock in the moon
There's a moon in my throat
You might think I'm wasting time
You might laugh but not for long
Hey! I'm working it out . . . (work it out)
I don't mind - let me go
Sounds inside - I don't know
Let me be - why not stay
I feel numb - let me play

con loro su n altro pianeta negli anni in cui droga e musica erano il mio essere vivo su questo pianeta
I hear this song in my head every morning when I wake up, so I play it!
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Living the dream
For my money one of the best albums of the 1980's.
Takes me back to the Regan 80's. If you hush- puppies are having a baby about Trump- Trump's a walk in the park compared to Regan/ Bush.
I was not born till after 911, but still I do Margret Thatcher and Trump are worse. Trump follows some of the same economic principles without trying . Too many slippery slopes and Slippery People
orion deschamps talking heads
They're aging incredibly well.
Fav TH track
Idk why some people think this track was just an album filler? This was one of the band's finest songs, I wish they played it live!
That it was never live probably held back its' success.
Best song on the album
Jared Brogdon : I hear you 🙌🏻💃💃💃
This album had no fillers. Whole thing fuckin SLAPS,
@Andy Williams ,
Ya dig!

Tina is truly a master. And a nerd. I think i'm in love.
this fucking BUMPS
This song always makes me think of Alien for some reason

Pretty sure this song is about smoking crack. Swamp also has heavy drug connotations
@-Waiting-For-Venus - Straight edge is doubtful...if you read "This Must Be The Place" or any of the post-breakup interviews of band members, coke and weed were in the mix. Not to defame DB or discredit his creativity around that period...just being realistic. It was the 80s after all.
Senzuri-Champion All four members have done drugs recreationally. Byrne even mentions his drug use in the Sand In The Vaseline liner notes. No biggie. And the heads made psychedelic music as well as anyone else. Memories Can’t Wait in particular is specifically about drugs.
@monkeytrousers ,
Thanks 4 all ur knowledge , information n insight! True Heads/ DB fan.

They lit a different candle. Talking Heads chose to go to the moon because it was groovy.
buzz fledderjohn going to the moon because it's a groovy place was the same mindset NASA had. They were right too.
