I'm totally gay for Russel, but I really feel like Rod's vocals had something more powetful. Here Russel feels like he is not putting enough power or something. Compare this to A Fool's Paradise for example and you can see that Russel is not at his best in this one. In general he has to be the best metal vocalist on earth, but Rod did it better in this one for me.

russell don't have that bad ass and "evil" tone like rod. of course russell is an amazing vocalist, better than rod, but... i don't know, the voice of rod make the song more sinister.
first album of Symphony X was good, musically, but the singing was one of utterest cr*pfests I have ever heard... Russell brought that music into heaven :P
