@FinjeFuchsherz They just realized what the song was about now that the show is 5 seasons in. I had this CD for 7 years and had no idea what this song was about until Game of Thrones when I put it together - and I even knew this because it's a 1 second wiki search to find out it is about the night's watch.

Tonight's Game of Thrones was metal as fuck.

An underdog army of criminals, bastards, and outcasts sheltered behind a giant ice wall fights a battle with cannibals, cavemen, giants, and mastodons, using every weapon at their disposal including crossbows, exploding barrels, a giant metal pendulum that hits bodies so hard they literally explode, and a giant white direwolf.  The screen is sprayed with blood by the gallons and there's enough emotional weight to crush even the blackest of hearts.  Yeah, pretty fucking metal.

I'm praying to the old gods and the new that they get The Sword to cover one of the ASOIAF songs for the Thrones TV show, like what we've seen with Rains of Castamere and The Bear and the Maiden Fair. How fucking rad would it be to hear Cronise singing about The Night that Ended?!?

Look up Gypsyhawk at Black Forest 2014, they do a heavy metal cover of the main theme to start their set, and they've toured with The Sword before.

Yeah man, I agree, also this new season is (imo) even better! They're doing a lot of deviating from the books in this 2nd season, but some of that is boarder-line necessity.

Anyone who's a big fan of the books should also check out George RR Martin's website, there's a new Theon chapter (that he'll probably re-word later like he does) on there as a preview to the new book. :]

While I will agree that a movie or TV show never captures the book, I am impressed with how closely and accurately its following. I will give credit that they are allowing Martin direct creative control over it, including letting him handle scriptwriting and some production stuff. That is always crucial.

This song rearranged and made into a promo played nationally for game of thrones would make them waaaay big right now. HBO, The Sword, Advertisers get to work on this!

@J4vex Read ALL the books. It's only 5 sofar, soon to be 6. The show will probably never come close. Season 1 was nowhere near as epic as it was in book form.
