Sweet - New York Groove Lyrics
It's been a year since I was here
On the street just passing my time away
To the left and to the right a town of stone grows to the sky
And it's out of sight, in a fading light
So here I am again in the city
I'm back, back in the New York groove
I'm back, back in the New York groove
I'm back, back in the New York groove
New York, in the New York groove
New York, in the New York groove
New York, in the New York groove
New York
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Now you're in New York, New York, New York
In the back of my Cadillac,
A wicked lady sitting by my side says where are we
Stop at third and forty three
Dance into the night and it's gonna be ectasy
This day was made for me
I feel so good tonight who cares about tomorrow
And baby, you better believe
I'm back, back in the New York groove
I'm back, back in the New York groove
I'm back, back in the New York groove
New York, in the New York groove
New York, in the New York groove
New York, in the New York groove
New York
New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Now you're in New York, New York, New York
I'm back, back in the New York groove
I'm back, back in the New York groove
Now you're in New York
I'm back, back in the New York groove
Let's hear it for New York
I'm back, back in the New York groove
Now you're in New York
I'm back, back in the New York groove
I'm back, back in the New York groove

Fn LOVE this track!@
Awesome Song but Kiss song is better
Alicia Keys, you're Busted 🤑 New York belongs to Sweet
@mad nomad.
Russ was never a member of the zombies.
You have him confused with his argent bandmate; rod argent, who still performs in the zombies along with their original vocalist colin blunstone.
Love all versión, each one different, but same energy, different stiles but all of them awesome !!, Ace Frehley, Hello, and Sweet Rocks !!
Should cover Long Island by Trevor Rabin. x
🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻😎
Rock on man
Yodelhiehooo: WOW. LOVE IT!
great song 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Original is Hello...
Ace Frehley recorded this on his KISS-solo album. The original? by Hello-
Redux of 70's pump up music. Cool.
The Jay-Z section was unexpected and pretty fucking cool. Fair fucks to Andy Scott 👍🏻
Coole Version
You can't touch Ace
Face it world Ace made this his song.
Great cover. Oddly, my first concert was the KISS Dynasty tour in '79. Ace's version of New York Groove was a huge hit at the time and Sweet was the opening band.
Nice mash up, sounds good.
Cross over mix between sweet version ace versión hello version Queen "tear it up " the Cross "shove it" Soda stereo " zoom"
It's not as good as Ace's version....it's 10 times better.
ace his version is wayyyyyyy better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome ❤️
Hello did it the best out of all three popular versions of this song.
Good cover 👍
Saw Sweet perform this in Wrexham a few weeks ago...absolutely blew me away, best version i've ever heard.
Sounds like a combination of Aces' version and Hellos'. The music of Ace with the vocals of Russ Ballard.
Original ist besser🖒
Phantastisch so sweet 💖💖💖💖🎸 💖🎸💖🎸
Love it
All 3 versions are good (Hello, Ace Frehley & Sweet) however, gotta go with Ace Frehley's version!
xoxo The Clarences
Sweet kills it and I'm a huge Kiss fan !!!
Nice cover
I like both versions of new york groove sweet and hello
Very simliar to the original HELLO version. Nice!
Ace's is the best!
GTA IV Memories. :)
this is the best
ACE Frehley KICKS SWEET ASS !!!
Ironic that Ace re-did Fox on the Run. Interesting, different bridge.
Ace made this song!
sweet have 2 great vocalists with peter lincon and former sweet vocalist tony o hora back in the band singing the alshia keys bit nice one
um.......huh???????
SWeet Version Better
such an awesome cover.
This piece is original of Russ Ballard and not of Hello, Ace or Sweet.
For Sweet|s fans - this is the best version.
This is probably one of the best covers ever. I don't normally like many covers but this is great!
Quiero un zoom anato... Oh...
wrong video.
Soda detected
la escribió kiss y la de kiss se oye mas chida
the best cover for me like they put a little bit of alisha keys is new york in the mix to make it different

the versions of HELLO or ACE FREHLEY are much better. who really needs this version? for me its boring
multirocky1965 your in idiot are u tone def sweets virson brilliant it's not boring u looney
not Brian
my mom just asked.."is paul simon doing hard rock now?"..lol
awwwhahaha! parents are great!
Nicky Fingers I can see why
This cover is absolutely brilliant !!!!!
Anja Schmied yes I love it
SWEET NOW IN LA HISTORIA DEL ROCK
Not bad, but i prefer Ace's version.
WOW! BLOWN AWAY! Like alot of You I grew up with the Ace Frehley version but I always loved Sweet's music and the song and the Band just fit perfectly!!! It definitely sounds like Sweet! Simply Awesome! I am going to Amazon to buy this now!!!
man this is awesome !!!!
Klasse Version
Went to eye-choons and saw they covered Blitzkrieg Bop and that, along with this track, was enough for me to buy it!
Respect.
This is just awesome! Genius to drop the Ak sample in. xxx
I love this version, but I still think the original from Hello is the best. Saw Andy's Sweet perform this live last week, and it was sooo good!
+Leps262
I think this version is a few BPM too slow. Still like it though I do agree with you.
orale suena a zoom de soda stereo
Es más vieja la versión de hello que hablamos de 1975
best cover for me with a little bit of alisha keys is new york thrown in the mix to alter it
+John O'Brien
Shit, I've just heard this and, man, I agree!!!
the best version I've ever heard - great Andy!
Perfection. Awesome song, and definitely Sweet!
Love Sweet!! I got to this looking for "Little Willy ".I'm happy to see musicians still at it chasing that Magic that music has to offer. In Ace's version I can definitely see the imagery of him young, rich and cruising NYC in the 70s. Attitude, Ace's BITNYG drips with it. This is a cool version though.
Ace ended up doing Fox on the run
Yes, on the Anomaly album.
how did Ace do on fox on the run?
@Maryann Colyer he dun it pretty well
That's rock'n'roll !!!!
@minibikemafia 😈
Good but not good as Ace Frehley's version .
I like this!
I prefer the Sweet version !!!
So true, to further that statement though, neither are as good as Hello.
Well it's different but not bad. I would see Ace play it this way.
Hello did the original...and best. IMHO
34 people are dick heads at this time frame. Shame on you.
wow, that kicks ass!
that bit at @ 3:02 sounds familiar, someone has ripped that passage off in some much more contemporary song, who ??
+Countdown70s Empire State of Mind by Jay Z ft. Alicia Keys
+Jake Bolling I knew it was something they played in classes at my health club..t/y..
No problem! I'm glad to have helped
Great song. I love it.
I love this song done by sweet ! Alicia Keys did it too - I like this best !
Fuck all the new-age copying bands that owe all of their success to ACTUAL bands, capable of constructing ACTUAL music.
this suck
THE BEST VERSION OF ACE FREHLEY ;)
haha--what's funny is that the Ace Freely version was a remake of a 1975 song by Hello, which was the original.
@till gol HAHAHAHAHA HELLO Where have you been.
Hello the lead singer of the group is the cousin of Russ Ballard. He first give the song to Hello to record in 1975. Ace Freely loved the song by Hello and recorded it 4 years later for his album Ace Freely in 1978. Debbie Harry has also recorded this song for her solo 2007 album Necessary Evil.
WOW !!!!!! this blows :(
IMHO this version ist great, and it was a good idea to include a part of Alicia Key's 'Empire State of Mind' in it. But I also like the versions from Hello and Kiss.
I think there's room enough in this world for all version. I mean, I can name five cover versions of Dancing Queen just off the top of my head, for example...
I think this was made before Alicia Keys was born. This is from the early70s
@the alaskan tarzani
Sweet to duzy kaliber jedna z najlepszych kapel
I tak trzymać .Moja tez
Wow, this blows
ai dont care if others is better for me sweet is the number one grupp
period
best song ever
You cannot touch Ace Frehley on this song ace version is way better
Have you heard the Hello version of NY Grove
I just don't like it
The version of HELLO is much better.
ok so Hello did do the song first....but third best version
Besser als HELLO
too slow .brian would hate it
It's too bad Mick isn't around anymore, The mid 80's-early 90's Sweet was actually pretty good. This isn't bad either. Too bad Brian ruined himself. I've seen footage of B.C. Sweet in the mid 90's, and they had to play the classics slower, because Brian was so messed up. Very sad!
You're BACK!! I have missed you my old friend SWEET!! I can't believe what I'm hearing, this version is pure joy. I'm back listening to REAL SWEET!! 40 yrs later and all that's happened, how did you do it?! Well done. Genius version, pure gold.
Dude, they went signature!!! Great job, Sweet!!!!
Fantastic. That rocks!!!!
as much as I love Ace, it was a band named Hello that released this song first..just sayin
@C M God Gave Rock and Roll To You by Ballard, recorded by Argent. (later, Kiss)
This version is best, of course.
https://youtu.be/Q9OYfCRXC5k
I'm glad someone mentioned Hello! Best version i've heard! And i know my shit! ;-)
@C M and that ace version was wank
@Steve Blease Eh, to each their own. I really like the song regardless, but I prefer Ace's version a bit more because it's more rock than Hello's version.
Russ Ballard was never in the Zombies. He was in the Roulettes, Unit 4 plus 2, and Argent. Bob Henrit was with him in all three groups. Argent's leader was Rod Argent who had also been the leader of the Zombies.
Cute but NOT anywhere as great and ionic as Native New Yorker, Ace Frehley, the Spaeman from Jendell.....
The "concrete jungle" messes up for me....
No, Hello is best and first.
the "conrete jungle" part is lame but if it wasn't for that, this would be the strongest recording of the tune that I've ever heard.
Acey, Ace baby!!!!!! Time for you to go to bed now, The SWEET is here and everything is going to be ok........................
Good twist on a classic song!
Agreed! I love the Alicia Keys bit in this. Brilliant.
