Sweet - Healer Lyrics
I met the healer in the twilight of my life
He was the purity in my madness side
He take me far beyond the sunshine and the snow
My faith in him ignites a charismatic glow
Cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me
Cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me
Cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me
He leads me through the twisted chasms of my mind
He saved me from the fated final sacrifice
He spoke to me with the palm of his hand
I hear you calling
I hear you calling
I hear you calling
Deliver me, deliver me, deliver me, deliver me
Deliver me, deliver me
I am the healer in the twilight of your life
I am the purity in your madness side
Cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me
Cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me
Cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me, cure me
I speak to you with the palm of my hand
I am the healer
I am the healer
I am the healer
I am the healer
Deliver me, deliver me, deliver me, deliver me
Deliver me, deliver me
Healer, healer

Sweet Healer Comments
This and “no you don’t” are their darkest and most elegant songs. This song belongs on zeppelins physical graffiti and reminds me a little of trampled under foot. Grew up with sweet and always felt they were mislabeled as a gimmic rock band. They belong alongside zeppelin for some of the most amazing rock pieces in music.
Healer is maybe the most underrated song of the Sweet. It´s magic and mysterious. Perhaps the best song on Give Us A Wink -album. It´s also areal setback to Queen, what ever hmmmm, I think Sweet did this song to give the impression, " We are the real Rock´n´Roll band"....what a funky rifffff, Awesome
SWEET - our best HEALER !
In my opinion, this is a masterpiece!!!!!!!!
Sensational. What a song! A rock statement. And a lesson in groove.
Lost classic
I've been listening to this track since 1976 and it keeps giving. Disco punk pop. Does it get any better than this
Still great!
High quality music. From the inspired group. That says it all. Underrated album alas
It was sad in the documentary about Brian living in council flats, with his lovely daughter who took care of him. Even at the end he was still gigging trying to support his family. Fucking great dude. i always got the impression that steve made fun of him a lot, as he could be a prick at times. Andy fought with him constantly, and Mick kind of stayed out of it.
Believe me Brian, in being an ex Canadian soldier, those fuckers who beat you up that day, would have thought twice if I would have been there. I usually never get involved in fights, but seeing a great guy like Brian get beat up, well lets say Brian would have been much healthier if I would have been there to help him. He was set up, as the inner fighting within the band was quite nasty from what I have heard. They started out great, but the effects of heavy touring, smoking, and drinking had its effect on Brian who was never in the greatest of health at the best of times. Remember touring at this time, was drugs, booze, groupies, and heavy travelling the demands of constantly churning out hit after hit after hit. And the fans change there likes of music, the times change, and bands like sweet are left in the middle to the left side of change. Very few bands from this day made the transitions. The very few like Bowie, were always just one guy, and he made the transitions easy. But the sweet had so many issues, at the end it was sad.
Actually this was the best song on the album. There finest album. Sweet was actually a hard rock band, but got caught up in the bubble gum glam era, money for the surrender of what really made you happy. So many sad endings for the guys in this band. Brian was really fucked up at the end, with so many health issues and died broke. Mick died broke as well, with the fans having to pay for a bench for his grave, as he only had a registered number for his stone. Steve did okay money wise, but he gained a ton of weight and looked like a trannie with his band. Andy did the best of all, as he really was the balls and brains behind the sweet. He toured with the semi cover band, for many years through europe and australia, ect. But he also gained a ton of weight, and I believe he is retiring this year or the next. We shall see, as andy loves to tour. But the years of boozing, groupies, bad management, money problems, drugs, and constant heavy touring took its toll. Brian had very frail health, and was beaten severely by a group of guys, but it sounded like he was set up. Really brian was a very small frail man and had no chance.
Brillant
I love this funk from SWEET
Damn this album is insane...
A great band..not given the credit for influencing top bands of later years.
Some of their songs were a little bit longer which I didn't mind this song right here was not really didn't really catch my attention I've heard it now for the first time just now I'm not real crazy about it from 1 to 10 10 being the best I'm going to give this at 5 I'm going to say average not one of their better songs it's okay I don't think I would play this one it's not really my favorite I still love the sweet but like you said they went downhill I think they went downhill after the 70s to the 80s, even though Brian had kind of left by that time they still had Andy and the American and Steve and they were singing the vocals so they still sounded pretty good up until 3, and then after that after that totally sucked cuz it just want the same and now they're not the same at all
Great album, still one of my favorites

Sweet makes Led Zeppelin sound like the Monkees. On a bad day.
Ninguém curtiu as músicas desse disco do Sweet?

Best Sweet Song Ever
some great songs on this album
Richtig cooler Song.
this album goes really deep
underated
Definitly.
I remember they got back together in 1990 , but did they record and from what i can gather it didnt even last the year out, can anyone fill me in
they went to see mike chapman in LA,when he saw connolly he said forget it!.
@full shred!. Ya kidding, so all that build up, press releases and Media Interviews and they didnt play one date, bizzarre
@Outlaw
apparently chapman said where's brian?,he didn't notice the old looking round shoulder'ed guy walking badly was him, should have called last orders on the booze, but didn't,a shame really.
@Outlaw They did re-record Fox, Ballroom and Action in 1988. Only Action got mixed, they didn't even bother with the others. You can hear why when you look up the 1988 version of Ballroom Blitz on YouTube.
In 1990 they reunited for some sort of promotion, not to re-record stuff again.
Cd album 'LA Connection' all covered songs but still good stuff. 'You Spin Me Round' originally by Dead Or Alive really rocked up, excellent.
they are all best
oh ! . Lived It . Never heard This .
Like Like A Lott
Actually the song was from 1975 not 1977 as I had it in 1976...this was the Sweet's best album..along side Desolation, but outside of these two albums..well...lets be honest, by cut above the rest, Sweet had become a shadow of it's former self. Without Brian, the Sweet had become a joke that had tried to ride the Disco waves and crashed. Andy had turned into Jeff Lynne of ELO, and the Sweet were no more..
@tommy bear bear Desolation was a greatest hits album. Most of the songs were from fanny adams.
Desolation was a good album, but Give us a wink was there best, after that it steadily went down hill until the shit album called cut above the rest, a seedy, poor disco piece of crap that I actually threw in the garbadge. loved the sweet, but they had become a joke mate.
Yeah but in 75 and 77 Brian was still with them Brian didn't leave until 79 from what I understand according to all the, all the, interviews and everything they said he'd left him about 79 and then he rejoin them, for a few more years on somebody Union stuff while he was still alive he would join them again for I don't know how long but part of the 80s he would join them again and then he left again for good before the 80s were even over
Off the record is also great
still best
i agree with bkaz this band was way a head of there time
i can never get sick of any of there songs cause they are masterpieces
i love this song
sweet was a good band
GRANDI !!!!!
Right hard rock.Best voice.Great song!!
Great song. Mick plays so relaxed and simple. Just grooves all day. Lovely!!
Sweet has been a rock n roll staple in my life since 1974.
You too huh? The LP is still in great shape; still winks.
Scott Little I've only been on this earth since 79 and love this shit😉
not the best.... whom was smokin' wat.....
Sure that Zeppelin and Purple were jealous by that time. Whose's gonna cover this ?
Scorpions were the support in 1975 Karlsruhe Durlach Stadthalle
I am so used to sound effects that I wouldn't think that was sung (as opposed to blended in) had you not pointed it out. Thanks
iamasweetfun
csodálatos
It's Sweet's best album...
quit riot ,no inventaron nada, escucha esto! y asi cuantas bandas mas!
Great album,what a song
Singing breathing in at 5.39 is hard thing to do.
fairly commonplace nowadays, unheard of back then
Give us a wink is a top hard rock album
recomended to rock fans everywhere
my time big live with it!
big times
Oh, this is fabulous! <3 it!
Brian delivered great heavy rock vocals throughout this album. In fact the guitar and drums sound great also .I like the effect created on Brian's voice at 5.40 approx. Also check out Mick's drumming on the intro to 'Cockroach' and Andy's heavy celtic rock style lead break during 'Keep it In'.
miss brian and mick
This was sweets best album by far...I think if they would have continued on this path, who knows maybe well into the 80s...Their best by far..sweet was a singles band who i have liked since 1975...a few weeks ago kids,...Sweet albums declined in quality after this album, with off the record their last decent showing..after that, shits ville big time..really they had some great songs, and some real shit ones.....RIP BRIAN, MICK
Ive Owned this Album/Cassette/CD Since it came out... This song is ***** 5 Star... Best on album... Maybe ...
Badly, they never wrote something significant...The only good tunes that they sang was wrote by Nicky & Chapman, that's the true.
