Swans - Just A Little Boy (For Chester Burnett) Lyrics
Now I sleep in the belly of woman
And I sleep in the belly of man
And I sleep in the belly of rhythm
And I sleep in the belly of love
I sleep in the belly of oceans
I sleep in the belly of kindness
And I sleep in the belly of you
I'm just a little boy
I'm just a little boy
I'm not human
I'm not human
I need love!
I need love!

Swans Just A Little Boy (For Chester Burnett) Comments
First SWANS album I’ve ever heard is this one. First SWANS anything is this album. When I heard this I imagined I’m in a small boat with Death himself and he’s rowing us in cold, choppy waters going to hell. This sounds like a haunting boat ride.
The unrivaled Swans
Reminds me of He Loved Him Madly by Miles Davis
IM JUST A LITTL BOY
The note that guitar hits at 6:50 is so satisfying
I have epilepsy...
Today I was sent home from work due to my condition.
I was waiting for the bus in a super seizury state.
I couldn't keep my balance or hold my eyes open for too long.
I was standing in the cold rain watching the traffic go past.
This song is playing in my earphones.
UNREAL EXPERIENCE.
So basically you had a experience similar to that of hard drugs, buts just as a condition with some weather and music sprinkled in. That’s intense
@Mitchel Green Yeah pretty much, I've done an array of hard drugs (ketamine, acid, mushrooms, PCP, MDMA speed etc) and this is more intense really.
worst song to listen while falling asleep
I need love
5:11 AH'M JUSALILBOIHYUGHHYUGHHYUGHHYUGHHYUGHHYUGH
best song ever?
I NEEED LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE
8:41 mmmMM TNNGGGGGGG god dammit that details make this song so powerful and interesting
The background riff gives me major Fire Temple vibes from Ocarina of Time. Only Michael Gira would record a song from within the molten core of Death Mountain.
You guys are weirdos
He needs love, my dude.
He's just a Lil boy!
i think one of the craziest things about swans is that gira is fucking 65 at this point, and he's now assembled the new lineup of swans to blow our minds all over again. what the fuck. god bless this man's absolute creative resolve to always push the boundary of music past its limits.
I need love
I love you too michael gira
everyone spewing david lynch in the comments has a brain worm
Groupthink
I know that the vocals are supposed to be reminiscent of Howlin Wolf, but they remind me of Tim Buckley
Wizard Arch closer to Peter Hammill than Tim Buckley but very much his own voice.
Gira has said that nothing about the song itself is about Burnett. He dedicated it to him because he felt Burnett was with him while performing it. The lyrics are him reaching back into his childhood.

vc parou aqui idiota
como é q tem um br aqui
@Predø por bom gosto
The massive amount of memory and possessing power available to anyone using digital can allow a patient person to be the next Quincy Jones. However, Quincy never has seen the darkness of the minds of Gira and Lynch in a studio. THERE is an interesting place to witness; although Angelo Badalamenti may play a midwife to both to deliver the most soul stirring sound trek ever
I'm listening to this album for the first time, and this music comes off as calming in the most disturbing way possible. I love it
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
grose zero
I'M JUST A LITTLE BOY
Grosero
fuck you
Strang 10
I’m not human.
Based michael did it again
Lynch and Gira at the former´s studio playing old blues records both seemed to enjoy ... thing is It was my shift that night at Lynch´s and I was asked to bring them tea, cold drinks and cookies ... tough luck eheh !
I love you too Michael
To be precise, It better fits "Quagmire and The Fire From The Shire"s fifth album Flame Turtle Tea Party. The slow beautiful guitar and building instrumentals are very similar. Not to mention the brilliance of vocals. Go give it a listen.
I have to agree. This album is very good at making feelings occur, and Quagmire makes you feel a different sort of emotions. They are both their own works of art, but I don't believe they can both be compared on the same level. They are both very nice listens and would recommend both
I'm having trouble finding them, do you know where can I listen to them?
RIP howlin wolf
Song is dedicated to Howlin' Wolf. Please listen to Howlin' Wolf because he was amazing.
PurpleLizard 23 Bishop's kings spin judgement's blade, scratch "faith" on nameless graves.
Eneç uh, I just found this guy's comment in the wild so I say "gay". Nothing more good sir.
PurpleLizard 23 why does it hurt when i pee?

I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
lizard:wow. wtf?
I can say with confidence that this was the first time I was unnerved by a laugh track.
You need to watch some David Lynch works.
Rabbits <3
Lil Scuzzy Ok good I thought I was the only one who was scared every time there was laughing
Well most of the people laughing are probably dead
yeah rabbits by david lynch is quite something for that niche, bojack horseman has at least 50 fucking moments like that. i'm always unnerved by laugh tracks as its someone trying to make me elicit an unnatural reaction
Reminds me of the grinch haha but it's the best song ever rn
Love & Respect
so sick. its like the audio equivalent to a david lynch film. maybe even more disturbing.
I fucking hate swans. Anything but this garbage. That damned yell? I had to cover my ears. What happened to when hipster music was good? (Ex. The Shins, Wilco, Vampire Weekend, King Lizard and the Gizzard Wizard)
R K You’re just a little boy!
R K music is subjective, just cause you have an opinion, that doesn’t mean it’s right.
R K I agree this shit sucks buncha kids who saw a Lynch movie and haven't stopped talking about for YEARS. Flooded the whole scene and killed it almost completely, congrats. This is the modern art of the music world and that not a complement at all.
This album reminds me of demon days, but a little different. Demon days from gorillaz has a lot more poppiness in it, whilst'd've to be kind is more on the experimental side.
LMAO HAHAHAHAHA WTF
Only liking the comment cause this absolute intellectual used whilst'd've in a sentence
No wayyy, I guess you mean the vocals kinda
Maybe a little bit, but what are your similarities?
This is a colossally stupid take
This is easily my fave from To Be Kind.
But but but oxygen????????
Earl Sweatpants oxygens kinda boring
She loves us is where it's at
@meeks bring the sun/toussaint l'overture
this gives me life!!
FINALLY the studio version is on YouTube. One of the best songs the band has recorded over their extensive discography. A morbid, pensive tribute to blues. Best experienced having listened to some Howlin' Wolf songs before hand to really appreciate the influence. This song is the underbelly of blues music, the dark, muddy side of the coin.
nice footage picture i mean profile picture
@dont say the n word your footage ain't too bad either, you've both got some pretty good footage
A great piece of music. Just amazing.
Reminds me a bit of "The Pink Room" from "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" OST.
Islands!
Christian Changer Agreed. huge peaks vibes.
One of the best songs
