Swans - I'll Cry For You Lyrics

My paw's in your mouth
I'm on the ground
I'll wipe out my face
I'll cry for you
I'll follow you
You live for me
You ridicule
I'll cry
I'll cry for you
I'll cry
I'll work for you
You use my weakness
To feed yourself
I'll cry for you
I'll cry

Swans I'll Cry For You Comments

According to Michael Gira in an interview: “I vividly remember recording this song in late 1983 in NYC, because we hired child musicians – boys and girls ages 11 to 13 – to play our instruments. It took a lot of gentle (and some not so gentle) coaxing to get them to play like us, with that unique, ‘dragging’ feel that Swans employed at the time, but with a lot of work, we all succeeded. The boy who sang in my place did a particularly good job, I think. With a little tape manipulation, a seamless replication. We didn’t release this song at the time because we couldn’t get legal approval from all the parents, but now it’s available.”

    damn haven't heard this before.
    😏

My favorite part about this is that it's technically not the members of swans playing the instruments. They wrote the music, sure, but they had children playing on the recording.

The reason it hasn't been released until now it's because their parents said no.

@BillyxRansom and where did you find that out

when I fuck I listen to swans
when I don't fuck I listen to swans
    swans are everything to me
they are like an altar, a great church forming within what, I don't know

    S.... B....

Total Church, Swans are God, they write masterpieces and they sound like no other, I am glad others love 'Swans' I stuck most songs on my Twitter and Facebook for others to hear how unique they are.

  16. S.... B....

Maybe, I'm strange, but that sounds like HEAVEN to me.

  17. S.... ....

The 666th video I've favorited. Fitting.

Swans is like what would happen if you distilled all the decay in the world and turned it into music. I love it. It feels like getting tossed into a back-alley dumpster and being crawled over by roaches, and then climbing out only to have a dead potted plant fall from a third-story window of a tenement building and knock you out, covering your head in dirt and blood, and you wake up to find out a hobo's molesting you and rifling through your belongings.

  21. K.... A....

I would never have known about this band if it were not for Youtube. I was eight years old when they split up. If only I had been born in '79 not '89...lol

  24. k.... ....

  25. B.... P....

Love Swans. Found out about them when someone commented on Reznor using one of their songs as a sample.
Thing is I hear this song and all I can hear is a slowed down version of one of the songs from the Fragile. Or more correctly I should say the song off the fragile is a sped up version of this. The actual track name escapes me.

  26. s.... m....

one of the finest bands ever, and they are back!
