Swans - 1,000 Years Lyrics

Stunning! Puts most goth stuff to shame, as it has a sense of honesty and loneliness. My three favorite LPs by SWANS/SKIN are: CHILDREN OF GOD, BLOOD WOMEN ROSES and SHAME HUMILITY REVENGE. I don't think Gira ever came close to the perfection of these LPs!

I remember finding this song on my iPhone when I was in hospital for three months in 2010. It's like it appeared on there.....

I have two signed CD's fom her solo-era. Both personally dedicated to me, one of them being kissed on the insert with purple lipstick. She is that kind of person. So sad she left Swans - the one recent Swans CD that lives up to their old standard is, IMO, the one she has a guest-performance on: 2012 The Seer. Anyway, however difficult especially the two most recent Swans CD's are to listen to, this is music made out of an urge, out of necessity. So, if you, will, true art. Anyway, I'll see the Swans October the 7th - I got on the invite-list for some reason.  ;-) Sad that Jarboe doesn't visit Europe too often, would instantly book a ticket.

@babypianocries When I saw her sing it live, Jarboe explained that they'd written this song for "interview with a vampire." So yeah, it's definitely about vampires!

Yeah, Jarboe was really perturbed, that Gira ended Swans. I remember her saying that she didn't even know that it was the Final Tour at first when they started it or words to that effect. I can't remember her exact quote.

@Herbalaussie well, Gira, has another SWANS going now, with longtime member guitarist, Norman Westberg back in the fold. Have you heard about that? Check out the site on myspace.

Thank You for posting this. My ex-girlfriend snaked this record from me. My favorite album probably ever! I bought it for $7 in 1990. I hear it's worth a lot now. If I had it, I would never sell it.
