I am not sure if you're referring to traditional doom (which this is NOT), but I can't possibly fathom how you would consider this as doom metal. Slow, melodic, depressing. It is the epitome of doom metal, as StS has always been.

@ihavetourettesxx well, i will say a proper high tempo blastbeat takes a load of concentration to perform and very much patience to master. a drummer is the conductor of his band, and it is proper for rapid passages

@rmed30, Swallow (live at FME 2006) starts with this kind of stuff but later descends to more traditional chaos. Descending Winter is a quickie, dont fall asleep goes doomy on its outro but before its basically sts's view on melodeath if you will. Weight of the dead, the massive closing track of their latest starts with in your face riffage before going doomy. it ends with absolutely epic kind of crushing ambient segment. its HUGE. Deadly Nightshade from their first is also .. ehh. sped up, heh

most rock/metal clips are really dull and {often} dumb (my opinion, of course), but this video is beautifully shot and creates a mood like the song. Swallow the Sun is like the Pink Floyd of doom/deah metal.

soooo goood, doom at its finest. The cinematography in this video is absolutely awesome!, I love the shots of the band under the spotlight. Trust me I'm not one for spamming on videos but if you guys are into doom perhaps you should check out my band Where She Wept.

This song is a masterpiece!! Those who say it's easy to play slow are idiots!! It's even harder to play slow....this drummer is a genius.

Reminds me of the "Eviga Riket"-story by Cult of Luna. Or maybe the other way round, as this one was released first.
