Supremes, The - Time And Love Lyrics

Winter froze a river
And winter birds don't sing
So winter makes you shiver
So time is gonna bring you spring
So he swear he'll never marry
Says that cuddles all her curves
Just tell him plain
You're on the next train
If love don't get there first

Time and love
Everybody
Time and love
Nothing cures like time and love
Don't let the devil fool you
Here comes the dove
Nothing cures like
Time and love
(Nothing cures like
Time and love)

Winter froze a river
And winter birds don't sing
So winter makes you shiver
So time is gonna bring you spring
You've been running
You've been rambling
And you don't know what to do
A holly golden wager says
That love will see you through

Time and love, everybody
Time and love
Nothing cures like time and love
Don't let the devil fool you
Here comes the dove
Nothing cures like
Time and love
(Nothing cures like
Time and love)

Jesus wasn't angel
The mankind broke His wings
But Jesus gave His lifeline
So sacred bell could sing
Now a woman is a fighter
Gather white or African
A woman is a woman, inside
Has miracles for men at night

Time and love, everybody
Time and love
Nothing cures like
Time and love
Don't let the devil fool you
Here comes the dove
Nothing cures like time and love
Nothing cures like time and love

Supremes, The Time And Love Comments
  1. w.... ....

Maybe Laura Nyro (who wrote this fine song) should have been on Motown. Maybe then she’d have been more well known.

    Fantastic Jean Terrell.
    The Best=Motown Sound ++++++++

  3. R.... R....

I love me some Miss Ross, but Jean owns this song!

The track, interestingly, was done for Diana's version of the song, which was to have been her first single and part of an entire album produced by Bones Howe. After doing a few songs, Berry Gordy decided to change direction and bring Ashford and Simpson in to do the album. They responded by a brilliant piece of work which gave Diana an opportunity to move her artistry forward and get a number one single.

  5. B.... ....

Diana's intonation, interpretation and timing were far better when she recorded this song in 1970
