Supremes, The - Things Are Changing Lyrics
Girls, have you got the kind of man everyone looks up to?
Well, if you don't, listen, I'll tell you what to do
Get your man, take him by the hand and bring him here to me
And I'm gonna tell you about equal opportunity
And it may have been hard to succeed
But times have changed now
And school and training is all you really need
It doesn't matter who you may be
Everyone's equal with the same opportunity
Yes, things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better
Now is the time for you to better yourself, ooh
And I'm going to tell you why
Just like the early bird that catches the worm
You gotta get up, go out and try
Your race or color won't stand in your way
Don't wait for tomorrow, today is your day
Yes, things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better
Now is the time for you to better yourself
Good jobs are out there (Things are changing)
Just waiting to be found (Things are changing)
They won't come to you, oh no
You gotta go out and look around
Your race or color won't stand in your way
Don't wait for tomorrow, today is your day
Oh, things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better
Now is the time for you to better yourself
I said, things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better
Things are changing for the better

Brian Wilson gave this song to Phil Spector and he changed it
Diana might be singing lead here, but Flo really steals this one (in fact, she's singing melody during the bridge and chorus)!
You can really hear Mary and Flo on this one.
+TGTSTS which was how it should have been. they always sounded best when all 3 voices were loud and clear.
Please, Flo would have been exploited worse under Phil's wing. At least with Motown Flo reached millionaire status. Phil hardly paid his artist's shit and screwed them out of royalties. That's ok, what goes around comes around. and Phil is right where he should be.
Not surprisingly Drats does a great job on this song/ Better than Darlene's version
How did it come about that the supremes put vocals over a Spector track?
+richardsnow it was recorded by several artists for an equal opportunities campaign
Some claim that Phil Spector gave this project to someone else to produce. Don't believe it! This is straight out of Wall of Sound circa 1965.
He gave this song to the blossoms... Look it up. It's pretty good but the supremes have better harmony
i agree Flo would have been great if phil spector had got hold of her
Sounds like Spector really knew what to do with Flo's voice...wow!
Phil Spector production circa 1965. Several artists recorded this with the same background
a very optimistic and hopefully song.
