Supremes, The - Honey Boy Lyrics

Brian Holland-Lamont Dozier-Edward Holland, Jr.

He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy
He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy.

Sweet kisses are his claim to fame
In my heart he'll always remain
True fine loving is his game
Honey boy is his name
He's sugar, he's spice
He's everything that's nice.

He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy
He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy.

I'd rather have a minute of his time
Than all the gold in the Fort Knox mine
My whole he inspired
Loving him is my desire
Always near when I need him most
That's why I love the boss.

He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy
He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy.

If you see me in my prettiest dress
It's for him I look my best
Nobody can take him from me
Because he has everlasting loyalty
He's sugar, he's spice
He's everything that's nice.

He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy
He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy
He's my honey boy, my ever loving pride and joy
Yes indeed.

Just heard the version by "Mary Wells", liked them both but this version stands out more.

  2. R.... M....

Honey Boy From The Lp "More Hits By The Supremes" and it was released in 1966 via Motown Records.

  3. R.... M....

Probably because I'm a middle aged fart, but I'll never get tired of their wonderful music. Today's sad stuff that passes for music all sounds synthetic and sterile.....well because it is...

  4. M.... N....

Originally recorded by Mary Wells. This could easily have been a massive hit for either Mary or the Supremes.

The BEST arrangement on that album......!

No girl group has hit 8 number ones like these girls. woot woot!

    i.... b....

12 No1s on Billboard Hot 100. 3rd biggest act of the 60s in the US behind Elvis & the Beatles

Love this one. I find myself singing this.

  8. K.... R....

    love this lp.

    or dead

  10. B.... ....

One of my favorite albums by the supremes. You can hear flo on this album on every track before berry lowered the background to blend in with the orchestration. Bad move berry.

    B.... ....

As much of a Diana Ross fan that I am, I hated when they did that because it disrupted the balance of the sound. And Diana's piercing- high soprano didn't have to worry about being drowned out by lower pitched alto and booming soprano of Flo

    Fabulous The Supremes.

  12. I.... S....

A kickass track by the Supremes. Actually this whole album was one of their absolute best.

    D.... J....

@BroccoliQueefed Based on sheer talent! there will never be a girl group like this. NEVER! As Bette Davis would say NEVAH!

  14. p.... ....

can we get the instrumental to this?

    p.... ....

There is an instrumental version but dont know where it is.

    p.... ....

Yea, right, an okee version! I like singing this all the time... 😊

  15. B.... ....

Surprised this wasn't a hit. Is it true that Diana Ross is the one that made their dresses in the early days and created their look?

    B.... ....

    Yes. She did.

    B.... ....

it was a hit but the origin singer was Mary Wells. Listen to her version the first recording an release.
