Supremes, The - Falling In Love With Love Lyrics
Falling in love with love
Is falling for make believe
Falling in love with love
Is playing the fool
Is such a juvenile fancy
Learning to trust
Is just for children in school
I fell in love with love
One night when the moon was full
I was unwise with eyes unable to see
I fell in love with love
With love everlasting
Falling in love with love
Is falling for make believe
Falling in love with love
Is playing the fool
Caring too much
Is such a juvenile fancy
Learning to trust
Is just for children in school
I fell in love with love
One night when the moon was full
I was unwise with eyes unable to see
I fell in love with love
With love everlasting
But love fell out with me!
Falling in love with love
Falling in love with love
Falling in love with love

I was in high school in 1967. The supremes was very popular then. This song was played at one of the dances
they still are very popular and relevant even today.
Great song.
Mary was low with some Soprano abilities like Gladys Knight and Phyllis Hymen and Candi Staton
Florence, you we're great!
I never get tired of listening to this perfect example of one of the few times that the Supremes displayed their harmony skills. Though Diana was perfect as the lead singer, this song proves how wonderfully she could harmonize with her singing partners, Mary and Florence. I just love Flo's very deep voice as it contrasts perfectly with the voices of Mary and Diana's creating a very balanced, smooth and soulful blend. I wish the powers that be at Motown would have created more opportunities for the Supremes to display this kind of elegant harmony.
Florence comes in at 1:10 and Mary comes in at 1:26
Mary is sharing the lead on the song with Diana. When you said Florence comes in at 1:10, you were just meaning that her background part (with Mary on lead) was starting there, right?
@JACK ANTHONY Yes, Florence comes in at 1:10 and Mary come in at 1:25.
@IAN WILSON It's Florence at 1:10 and Mary comes in at 1:25. The rest is Diane at lead.
@Robert Sharp There were three Supremes, not one.
This recording reveals how versatile The Supremes were. The group sound showcased here could've carried the group through many decades if Berry Gordy hadn't been blinded by his love for the lead singer.
@SIXA SOFAR FYI- Every member of The Primettes / The Supremes (Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, Betty McGlown, Barbara Martin & Diane Ross) as they were a FEMALE QUARTET then TRIO (all members according to material could sing lead) before Berry Gordy once he started his sexual relations with Diane Ross (1965/66) change the group into LEAD & BACKGROUND SINGER assigning only Diane Ross as lead!
GET YOUR FACTS IN ORER!
@TWTR4EVER Fact: *Primettes
@SIXA SOFAR :Lol.......Really???
Yes,really. You spoke your 'mind; I expressed what I believe to be true.
@SIXA SOFAR TRUTH are facts, usually HISTORICAL FACTS not what we believe!
That's distorting history!
THANK YOU "theSUPREMEscene" for this, THE SUPREMES (Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson & Diane Ross) as they are "inducted & vested" into history at "THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM". Here performing as a real "FEMALE TRIO" on which all three members share lead & harmonies as they always did before the "shake-up" of 1966/67 were Berry & Diane, in order to build up Diane Ross "solo act" would implement the "charade" of "Diane Ross & The Supremes" sending Florence, Mary, & Cindy who would replaced Florence when she rebelled and wouldn't go along with the travesty of becoming THE DIANE ROSS SHOW into the background as, her bookends, her decorative figures, her shadow!
Today in 2014 THE SUPREMES are the "LEGACY" the only one Diane Ross at the end will ever have!
Nice to hear Mary Wilson sharing lead on this single with Diana Ross and you definitely can hear Florence Ballard in the background with Mary and Diana.
