Over the course of their careers through constant hard work and rehearsing the Beatles became really great musicians. But they never BECAME really great songwriters because they always WERE really great songwriters, from Day One. That's why I will listen to 50 different covers of a Beatle-song and like them all. A good song is not pegged to the single recording or performance of the group that made it famous (and in fact it's pointless to try to make it sound like the original, because the original already DOES sound like that). A good song has that potential for anyone to find new hooks and counterpoints, new harmonies, new arrangements. You could arrange a Beatle-song for bassoon octet and it'd still be great. In the English language you don't "do" music or "work" music. You "play" music. That's what covers should aspire to. Play. Experiment.

I was reluctant to check out this album because I had heard a lot of bad reviews of it, but now that I've heard some of the songs, I like it. Not their best but still enjoyable. I saw a lot of bad reviews of Meet the Supremes but thats one of my favourites, after all.

Still I think this could have been much better but it's obvious Berry made this album as a cashgrab which is a shame because this could have been one of the Supreme's best if Gordy was willing to put a bit more into it.

Flo was under rated.  The media like Ross's looks. I get it.

Considering that The Supremes rivaled both The Beatles and Bob Dylan for popularity in the United States of America during the 1960s, it is only appropriate that they paid tribute to their popular peers here!

And yet, when the Supremes first met the Beatles in person, according to Mary Wilson, they had very little to say to each other.  In fact, Mary Wilson stated that the Beatles just stared at them and uttered a few sentences.  That was the meeting.

it is hard for me to listen to anyone cover the Beatles because they were so unique and powerful. but the Supremes did a good job here. Still, the Beatles were way too fab!

OMG!!!!! I always knew that the Supremes could rock doing a great rendition of The Beatles song Hard Day's Night!! As a staunch Beatle fan, that was the best cover of that song I ever heard! Nothing against the fabulous Diana Ross but the only Supreme that could do a great rock rendition of rock was Florance Ballard!!! Diana Ross has the soul music on lead in the Supremes which is exactly the kind soulful group that they are because of her.I'm sorry things turned bad for Flo and I remember crying at the news of her passing! I would practice playing the drums for many groups and singers including The Supremes!!! R.I.P. Flo! I miss you. God bless you Diana Ross wherever you are!! I love u! God bless you too Mary Wilson.
