According to Divine light, 6 months ago, as for Whitney Houston’s. It is felt that her voice was an expression of her heart and spirit. So, when people sing her songs it just does not comparable because it is not her energy that comes out. Therefore, you sing her songs with your own energy and heart. “Blessing to you all.”

This is what I mean by true vocal intelligence, it is not just the vocal coords training but your own life spirit because that spirit drive the vocal coords. Assuming someone’s vocal phonatory is in someone else’s body, that somebody wouldn’t be able to still sing it the way the original owner of the vocal phonatory can use it and sing the way the owner does because you are not that someone else’s self as the master of the instrument.

Most people miss out that singing 🎶 involved the energy production of our life force (soul) manifesting people's unique emotion and behavioral personality for someone to be considered really singing 🎶.

Donna Summer is one of those singers who were able to do things in the standard. We must understand that Donna Summer's genre of songs are in Disco 🕺and emotional structure required in Disco songs are very different from R&B, Soul, Ballad songs.

My favorite Album from 1978 !! I was 10 years old. I am so privileged to be a child of the 70s ; and a teenager of the 80s !!
I remember singing this song so loud when I was 10. She is a Iconic !! RIP Miss Donna . The Queen 👑 of Disco 💃
I miss those days so very much. My mommy and Daddy and my Aunt was living and I miss them so very much !! My childhood was incredible !! And so were my teenage years in the awesome 80s !!
By the way ( not bragging or anything like that ) But I have 2 masters degrees in music 🎶 and I have been a Classical Trained Pianist since 1992 !! And I teach music and Piano here in Manhattan on the Upper East Side of Madison Square Park Avenue at the School of Arts 🎭 and Music.
I can play this entire song on my Baby Grand ; I have learned how to play by ear back in 1997. And I play this entire song by ear ; with no sheet music 🎶 !! I get a lot of requests from people to play this song on the piano 🎹 all the way through. I don’t miss one note or flat :: I love 💗 playing by ear 👂 I can listen to any song 3 times and then go to my piano and play it perfectly. My family and friends and my big stud Husband Michael said it was a true gift !! And my 24 year old Daughter ; I started training her too young really. But she didn’t like it and she was not interested. So she cannot even play chopsticks !! But I did not try to make her learn. I told her if she felt it wasn’t her thing ; then go do something else !! But I really think that everyone should learn how to play at least one 🎸 !!
But I started my piano lessons at age 6 years old back in 1974 . And went through every book so fast 💨. Then at age 15 Daddy bought me my huge Baby Grand !! It sounds like Heaven. But I can tune my own piano now and don’t have to pay out $200 every 6 months to someone else to come into my apartment here on Park Avenue !!
So 2 hours to tune my piano every 6 months. Being a Classically trained pianist has sent me far in my life. If you have children ; start their lessons at around 8 years old. Because my parents started me out too young I feel !!

Brilliant. A few months ago,naively, I thought Donna's only hit was "I feel love" because it was the only I'd ever heard. Slowly I've discovered more of her songs, "bad girls" "hard for the money" "loves unkind" "this time i know it's for real" "last dance" to name a few and now this gem. One of the most underrated singers ever. RIP Donna Summer. You gave us the gift of your wonderful voice, talent and music. I only wish I could of seen you live. Gone too soon.

I was 4 when I first heard this song. It depressed me deeply

She’s worshipped by those that love disco but she’s not always brought up as the greatest vocalists ever, which she is one of, for sure. Just shit luck of being connected to short lived disco. She’s highly rated, but not as high as she should be. And yeah, Whitney is not in Donna’s ball park. Whitney has a strong and loud voice, so does Donna. Difference is Donna’s is so much more than that. Whitney’s always sounds like she’s screaming and Donna is singing.

Beautiful woman, no drama when she passed, what a shame it wasn't covered extensively. She was The Disco Queen. Talented beyond belief. Love her sweet soul.
