I'd love 900X to do more remixes of Sufjan's stuff. James' extra percussion gave this song a new layer, and I think would work on other songs.

When I listen to this, I kind of imagine a home video being played backwards.

By remixing his already-beautiful songs Sufjan gives us new ways of hearing them while honing his skill and versatility as an arranger/composer. He can also make more money from it. This is a smart man. I continually learn from what he does.

Don't know the original song, but this is SO crappy I don't want to hear any more of it.

I def wouldnt have done the beat that way on the chorus. Shouldve half timed it to highlight the dramatic vibes that it so perfectly gives. Pretty sick remix though!

This is one of the most depressing songs ever. This song is disguised as a happy song at times but its one of the darkest songs he's ever written!

Now make an EDM Bass boosted trap chillstep mix of it with three beat drops.

somehow takes the simplicity and beauty of the original, adds so many layers, and yet keeps that same melancholic feeling with brutal honesty and just a sprinkle of hope. well done again.

the various remixes of this song (including the live version) just go to show how masterful and haunting and beautiful this piece is. this one makes the vocals even more ghostly and hard-hitting. I would love to somehow hear this arrangement with just a big ol' grand piano and these vocals and nothing else. it would truly wreck us all.

I won't even dislike, and it's only my opinion but... You don't remix that track. You don't even think about touching that track. Fourth of July is so perfectly sad and beautiful that nothing could make it better, no remix can do this song justice. But then again, only an opinion ^^
