The depth on this album always surprises me because it was so overlooked. Crystal Ball and Mademoiselle might have been the main attractions (understandably), but DDY had some great tunes on this one.

The bridge and guitar solos for this sounds very similar to Crystal Balls, while the keyboards at the end sounds similar to Babe.

Only Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" seems to be adept at using bits and pieces of older songs, some that were never released.

But here, the title song "Crystal Ball" does come after this...

Part of this song also sounds like the opener "Put Me On."

A lot of Styx guitar solos sound very similar to each other, particularly the way JY and TS end them.

I saw Styx open for Bad Company back in the mid 70's, and I must say that Styx blew 'em away. Bad Co. is good but Styx had a lot more energy.

They were always one of my favoirite bands growing up but then agian I was born in '63. in 1980 i paid 15$ for a floor seat at concert that was cancelled becuase dennis de young had larigitis.

the sad thing is they are so underrated as a band, listen to the harmonies of vocals and guitars and the cool riffs and drum beats. I mean they are epic, but unfortunately they don't get as much recognition as they deserve.
