I remember reading that Oz Fox was known as the cool kid in his neighborhood who could play "I'm the One". Another great track from that album!! I'm not surprised how killer it is.

My favourite Van Halen song by far. This cover just blows me away. All the songs they cover on this album are exceptional. Glad to hear they dug deep in the VH library rather than playing one that's been overplayed and worn out.

Rolando, totally agree. Oz Fox is an amazing guitarist (one of my favorites, for sure), and those solos in "Against The Law" are, in my opinion, his best. It's my favorite Stryper album.

Van Halen was more metal than Priest, ACDC, Ozzy, Metallica, Sabbath, etc. when they wanted to be. They never did straight up metal throughout their career because Eddie Van Halen was way too musical and talented and had deeper songwriting chops than to just play and write the straight metal game. Even their
metal tunes like On Fire had more mojo, catchiness, musical chops, cleverness, etc. than most metal. I'm just saying.

I seen Metallica and Van Halen on the Monsters of Rock tour. Metallica was by far the heaviest band there, way heavier than Van Halen.

IDK that it has more views than all of Van Halens' versions or different vids. of this tune. It is an incredible 'cover', Stryper because of the 'yellow & black' theme, got unfairly labeled as a 'gimmick' band by some, and unless you really listen to an entire album by this band, simply remembering the MTv hits, you are missing out on one of the most talented bands in the history of rock n roll. I believe Heaven n Hell, or Highway Star, off the same CD this came from, are even better than this.

Their are some bands that are extremely difficult to 'cover', and do it well. Van Halen is one, for a myriad of reasons, one being 'they have their own distinct sound', & Eddies guitar style is unlike anyone else in the history of rock n roll. This is amazing, Stryper are not 'just another hair band'. Their musical prowess, the harmonies, every aspect of what they do, is vastly under-rated. What a band! Great job on a very difficult tune to cover!

I am glad they picked an obscure rocking VH song to cover, I just wish they had applied that same criteria when selecting other songs to cover. We didn't need a 5th cover version of "Set Me Free" for example or a 4th cover of "Highway Star"

Don't care if it this great song need not to be covered, if a cover song rocks than a cover song rocks. Hey, VH didn't need to cover the songs they covered back in their days..You Really Got Me....Pretty Woman...Dancing In the Street, but they did anyway and people still seemed to like their versions of those songs. Even though Eddie has stated he hated the cover version of songs on the Diver Down album.

The Metal God himself admitted that was a great cover album and that they treat the songs with respect. If you don't like, that's good with me. The one that's ends up missing a great album by one of the most underrated set of musicians is you. By the way, the on fire cover was awesome.

I have no problem with 'turn coat' secular soup like this. I'm bummed that Stryper kept their name for this CD. It has nothing to do with ministry , OZ told a very good friend of mine The Christian scene was dead and they were broke. I hope somehow this all turns out spreading the good news. I think it's funny how a christian band gets so much flack by singing secular songs mostly just becouse it is the style of rock. but then when a secular country group does a christian song it is looked at as wonderful and the nasty words of all the other country songs that are done by the same country singer is then over looked.

Its one thing for "secular bands" to "get saved" and do "christian music" to get more customers. But this is freakin awesome!! At least Stryper didn't parody these songs and put "christian' verses in them. What a way for all this to come full circle is for the first heavy metal christian band i listened too to do covers of songs I was "forbidden" to listen too back in the day. Great Job Guys.

I don't know whats the deal with many people hating this album. I bought it and is a kick ass album. Yes they talk about Jesus in their songs, but they really rock and what if they decided to tribute some other metals band. Let the people see that enjoying music, no matter their message, will not sent you to hell right away. People should be intelligent enough to differentiate between art and what its wrong. Enjoy this album and fuck the rest.
