Streisand, Barbra - You And I Lyrics

Here we are
On Earth together
It's you and I
God has mad us fall in love
It's true I've really found
Someone like you
Will it stay
The love you feel for me
And will you say
That you will be by my side
To see me through
Until my life is through
And in my mind
We can conquer the world
In love you and I
You and I, you and I...
I'm glad
At least in my life
I've found someone
That may not be here forever
To see me through
But I found strength in you
I only pray that I have shown you
A brighter day
Because that's all that I am living for
You see
Don't worry what happens to me
Cause in my mind
You will stay here always
In love you and I
You and I, you and I
You and I, you and I
You and I
In my mind
We can conquer the world
In love you and I
You and I, you and I
You and I...

Full Circle my fave all time album !!

  8. M.... C....

    Stevie Wonder !
    Super Streisand.

  9. C.... B....

There are some things I don't like about Barbra, personally. However, her voice is transcendent. It's ethereal. Her vocal chords are not of this world and that's why I love her.

  10. E.... P....

    Barbra is Barbra, forever.

  11. M.... S....

how could you not love this woman and this song ???

  12. S.... G....

I've loved Barbra since I was a poor black kid living in the inner city projects of Houston Texas back in the 70's. I would escape my miserable, unhappy, lonely life with her beautiful music. It got me through the worst of times. I was bullied horribly on a daily basis. I would lock myself in my room and let her music take me to another world. If I ever meet her I would thank her because she got me through my horrible childhood.

    S.... G....

Honey Barbra was THE BUSINESS back then! In the 70s I think we had a stronger appreciation for talented vocalists across the board, and her vocal range endeared her to many people who traditionally grew up listening the powerhouse singers of r&b. I think I was 6 years old when I first heard her sing the songs "Everything" and "Woman in the Moon", and from that moment on, it was a wrap: for me, Streisand joined the ranks of true vocalists with otherworldly abilities who could transform and transport you to anywhere just by the sound of their voice. I remember plaging her records nonstop in grade school, just being absolutely flabbergasted and delighted by her talent. It may show my age by saying so, but I miss seeing this level of quality in singers who command the music charts today, in all genres of music.

    S.... G....

Steven, sorry to read this and hope you are happy now x

    S.... G....

I"ve been moved by your words.
Music is soul food, they say.....
Yes it is..... But it also heals souls.
It's amazing how Music (and especially one particular artist) can bring us together.
I want to dedicate a song for you Steven, it's one of my all time recorded songs by Barbra, from. Songbird : Tomorrow.
God Bless you, God Bless Barbra, thank God for the Music.

    S.... G....

I am so sorry you had to go through that my friend. Thank God you are here today and hopefully healthy. God love you. I am so glad Barbra could help you through that crap that should never happen to anyone. Hugs

  13. M.... S....

    I love her

  14. N.... M....

I bought this album the first day it came out. Anything B recorded, I wanted. But there was a difference in her vibrato. Almost as if she was struggling. Not sure if it was because she was vocally training for the Classical album. Very good album, and believe it or not, one of my favorite songs was not this one. Shake Me Wake Me was my favorite! You and I has stood the test of time and thank God for the digital medium, because her loud passages caused the stylus on the vinyl to mistrack with sonic crackling distortion. Now we can hear it in its clear brilliance. Thanks for posting this gem!

  15. I.... T....

    It's so very beautiful...

  16. F.... L....

BARBRA STREISAND. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU. "YOU & l.

    A very precious song.

  22. L.... L....

Simple the best she sing a good song, justo a good song, and make it one of the romántica song.

  23. H.... G....

All you have to know about this rendition is that Stevie Wonder once whispered in Barbra's ear, "I'm so glad you recorded 'You and I.'" True story.

  24. .... ....

    чо за красноносая падла?

  25. T.... F....

you can thank David Foster for the arrangement

  26. E.... A....

    Madonna

  30. K.... K....

Nr.2 Female white Singer after Karen Carpenter....

  31. m.... ....

Really don't make music like this anymore

  32. J.... L....

No matter who's the best i love this one! I simply adore this talented woman!

  33. N.... B....

    absolutely bloody fantastic! beautiful

  34. p.... ....

Streisand's voice is diamond cold and lunar bright .

  35. D.... A....

Love this Album. I'll take a Lazy Afternoon anytime.

  36. G.... ....

Over-produced. I'd love to hear her sing this with a guitar accompaniment only. THAT might be stunning. THIS is merely impressive.

  37. A.... H....

    beautiful <3

  38. P.... B....

    i love this

  39. K.... H....

Stevie's version would had been better with just a piano and much less spacey synthesizers. Babs version has more powerful orchestration to match her much more powerful vocals.

  40. m.... b....

    ESSERE NOI

    Anche quando dormiamo
    io veglio questo amore
    più rosso del più maturo
    dei frutti.
    Senza riso e senza pianto
    dura da sempre.
    Giorno dopo giorno
    e notte
    dopo questa notte.
    Dopo di noi.

  41. s.... ....

The most beautiful arrangement of this Fantastic Stevie's song, made by super Rupert Holmes!!!

  42. N.... S....

I love Barbra but Stevie is the best !

  43. C.... N....

When Stevie Wonder left the stage after performing at a tribute to Barbra a few years ago, I heard him say to her, Thank you for recording You and I."

  44. M.... N....

So refreshing to hear someone who can SING. Someone who understands and interprets the lyrics and communicates and connects emotionally with the listener, not drowned out buried under layers of production and backing vocals used to compensate for vocal limitations OR the incessant unnecessary runs and trills so loved by so many of todays "diva's". To me someone like Adelle is a belter, about as subtle as a sledgehammer- she reminds me of good old Ethel Merman! A superb recording by Babs and so good to hear she still sounds great today.

  45. h.... m....

If we ever get invaded by another planet i do hope they play this as a sample of our music, or anything from Simply Streisand, rather then Jedward. Haydn Moore.

  46. K.... A....

Have not heard Stevie's version but I love this so much and it will play at my wedding.  I love his words and her vocals.  Spine tingling.  This touches me deeply from the first time I heard it.

  47. B.... ....

Nice and pretty...but Stevie adds a soul and feeling that Streisand can't reach. her's is technically pretty and the production is nice as well. But Stevie version touches you

    B.... ....

    +Bahia82 Crap soul.

    B.... ....

+Bahia82 I agree, i'm a big fan of both, infact i think they're the best male and female voices ever ( love Diamond as well ), but Stevie's original version is more emotive.

    B.... ....

+Bahia82 you are right it touches you...., but some of us get touched by Barbra's version, and I came to love to this song and lyric because of Barbras unique interpreation.

  48. s.... ....

Masterful. She lives the song. Stevie Wonder wrote a simple, yet powerful number.

  49. S.... E....

This children is how it's done.  The effortless power in her singing; still unparalleled today.  That note at 3:22 is pure Barbra.

  50. t.... l....

Truly a love song to yours!!!!

    t.... l....

@teed lassen a beautfiul love song for "mine".

    t.... l....

    teed lassen

  51. l.... o....

maravillosa como Argentina en la final

  52. s.... ....

This song starts so gentle, then builds and builds.Great song, great arrangement,
    great singer.

  53. s.... ....

    Superb.

  54. g.... ....

Much appreciation to Rupert Holmes, who produced, arranged & conducted this gem, he's so very underrated.  Too bad he's known primarily for "The Pina Colada Song".

    g.... ....

    That dude is INCREDIBLE
He wrote Mystery of Edwin Drood too. What a talent.

  55. J.... 7....

Our song my Lady Love only for you by one of my fave artist.

  56. W.... B....

    Barbra awesome!!!

  57. L.... V....

    Amazing!

  58. P.... s....

I agree with plaron ,, that listening to and enjoying the talent of barbara has been a gift in my life to be given 50 years of joy listening to her, she is the best of the best! especially compared to the crap that fills the airwaves today!

  59. S.... S....

I've counted and barbra has sung around 480 completely different songs when you count all studio albums however there many like all of my life that are not really part of an album missing .. People, evergreen etc. are great but to truly get a feel for Streisand's true greatness one has to listen to a wide range of styles, genres and interpretations of her songs.. There has never been anyone like her but a lot of people listening to a handful of hits determine she's "very good"which is ridiculous

  60. S.... S....

Listen to between yesterday and tomorrow.. Just amazing

  61. S.... G....

I remember reading a review in Rolling Stone by some pompous, too cool of a rock and roller kind of reviewer criticizing the merits of Ms. Streisand's talents and her interpretation of this Stevie Wonder song. This just so happens to be a favorite of mine and Streisand gives it her big boom treatment, especially at the end. When all is said and done this song leaves me feeling like nothing can touch me and my love for we can conquer the world. I love her singing and style in this song. A+

  62. R.... A....

    AMAZING......

  63. t.... ....

One of my favorite Barbra songs!

  64. t.... ....

Ms. Streisand has a talent for the ages, a voice the microphone adores, an innate limitless understanding of emotions, intentions, performance power, entertainment. Aren't we all blessed to have her music at our beck and call?

  65. t.... ....

One of her best recording performance. Beautiful range and articulation.

  66. S.... G....

I remember reading s critical review in Rolling Stone Magazine of this song and the reviewer mentioned something to the effect "Streisand relies on her usual to blow this love ballad up" and I remember thinking don't most singers wish they COULD even get into the same proximity of a Streisand vocal. Ha ha. This may be my all time favorite Barbra Streisand song. Magic and powerfully beautiful. Classic.

  67. b.... ....

    Stevie....

  68. b.... ....

    Beautiful

  69. k.... ....

  70. e.... r....

@ajunaleigh Indeed, we are extremely lucky to have witnessed such magnificence in our lifetime! She is a marvel.

  71. H.... I....

I love you Barbra COME TO MEXICO, If you come I would sell my car to se attend to one concert of you. hhhhhhaaaaaaaaa TE AMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TE AMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TE AMOOOOOOOOOOOO TE AMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TE AMOOOOOOOO

  72. m.... ....

    Amazing version, amazing singer!

  73. c.... ....

Superb rendition of Stevie Wonder's song.

  74. A.... H....

Damnit, man. This is unbelievable. How could such a goddes actually live on OUR Earth?? Damn I am so lucky to have her alive while I am. People in the future would DIE to be in her generations.

  75. T.... S....

    mmmmmmmmmmm xxxooo

  76. A.... K....

The best rendition of this song ever! This crystalline voice just soars over the melody!

  77. q.... ....

    Stevie Wonder wrote the song!!!!!

  78. L.... ....

Everyone talks about Barbra Streisand's tone, the one that inspired all those comparisons to the world's smoothest condiment. They also speak of her range, which mirrors the distance between the depths of the Grand Canyon and the peaks of Everest. Her lung power invites equal comment; Small wonder since, at full bore, it can flatten a town.

  79. 2.... ....

the greatest voice of ALL TIME!!

  80. l.... o....

for ever, and ever, and ever, Barbra Streisand

  81. R.... G....

I haven't listened to this album in years, but it's one of her finest from the 70's. I have to buy the CD!!!

  82. .... P....

    This exquisite jewel is priceless!!!
    Stevie's classic plus Barbra's.....enraptured!!!

  83. F.... C....

The best vocalist of 20th century are BARBRA STREISAND and MINA MAZZINI! No more...

  84. i.... ....

My first time hearing this song, and here I am claiming to be a fan. Great song!

  85. i.... ....

oh God, how I love her!!!!

  86. S.... E....

Just another example of why Barbra Streisand is widely considered the be the best all around (and biggest selling) female vocalists of the 20th century. And yes that includes Whitney, Mariah, Madonna, and Celine. ((DoUbLe SnAps)).

    S.... E....

Michael K. You think she sold more than Mariah & Madonna??? 😂😂😂

  87. L.... ....

    WE LOVE YOU BARBRA!

  88. K.... ....

This is funny! I actually won this album for painting the best fire hydrant in my neighborhood way back in 1976. I had no idea who Barbra Steisand was and was disappointment that this album was my prize, that is until I listened to it... then oh, my, my my...

  89. S.... A....

where can i download it?please send it to me

  90. F.... s....

Apparently, this album is Babs favourite album! She said she loved every minute of making this album. It's not very popular with her fan sadly. I think she sings a lot of art songs for this album.

    F.... s....

Floppy sunhat this is a desert island favorite for me.

  91. i.... ....

I like the ending... where she goes abruptly from a forte to a pianissimo - great dynamics

  92. S.... ....

I've always loved Barbra's version of You And I. Beautiful! Thanks for posting this!

  93. d.... ....

Stevie Wonders version is much better, but this is great.

  94. i.... ....

    Stevie Wonder wrote it.

  95. i.... ....

Shut up... Stevie's is the best, but hers comes in second.

  96. W.... M....

Beautiful, simply beautiful... who could ever expect anything less from Barbra :)
