Streisand, Barbra - That's A Fine Kind O' Freedom Lyrics

Bird up above see what he's got
The freedom to fly and the freedom to not
De dum that's a fine kind o' freedom
Look at him go way up above
Look at the crow he's as free as the dove
De dum that's a sweet sorta freedom
He owns the clear blue
Sittin' on his sunbeam
Could be there's one beam up there for me
Bird up above man in a tree
Don't have to fly but he's gotta be free
De dum that's a fine kind o' freedom
Bird up above see what he got
The freedom to fly and the freedom to not
De dum that's a fine kind o' freedom
Fly where he like
Like where he fly
Don't have to go to the back of the sky
De dum that's a fine kind o' freedom
Wake up you glum bird
Help us overcome bird
Freedom has slumbered for too long
Bird up above man up a tree
Don't have to fly but he gotta be free
Have to find the thing that he's after
Free and equilibrium
De dum that's a fine kind o' freedom
Hey bird...you can show him the way bird
You can show him today bird
Oh yes indeedum that's a fine kind o' freedom

cute...sheeeple ....that is cute but oh so useless.....it simplifies and diminutitizes a whole group of people's true emotions.....by calling individuals by this term you are minimizing their freedom of choice simply because you are not in agreement and probably represent an alternate view which is not shared by the majority you refer to as "sheeple"

  14. D.... l....

@johnw456 As a US ARMY vet I say to you do not pity their deaths.....they would not want that ...rather you should praise their cause and remember them respectfully...live your life better so that their death is not in vain. Be brave and courageous....as they were.. and live a good life. Uplift them and do not waste your energy with sad pity.

  15. D.... l....

@MadTarnsman You are a disgusting piece of shit....oh and btw I am a white blue eyed man who is a US ARMY VET you scum sucking pig.

Sad to read about the passing of Lena Horne this week, Very beautiful and talented
singer. Barbra Streisand was always shy when she was near Lena Horne, who was
also from Brooklyn. Barbra never recorded Lena Horne's signature song STORMY
WEATHER, even though she recorded lots of Harold Arlen's songs. Barbra should sing it now as a tribute to Lena.

Very sad to hear of the passing of singer Lena Horne this week.
Extremely beautiful and talented she was an overnight sensation.
Barbra was always shy when she was near Lena. Curious that Barbra
recorded lots of Harold Arlen's songs, but never recorded Lena Horne's
signature song STORMY WEATHER. Would be great if Barbra sings that
now as a tribute in memory of Lena Horne..

What rock have you been under?

Who should we blame, the little man who lives under your bed?? Bush/Cheney deregulated the banks, allowed sub prime mortgages to flourish, sent us to war to fight the terrorist in a country that they were not in and they knew it. They didnt destroy New Orleans but they let it get worst and are responsible for almost 1000 people dead there. Bush/Cheney destroyed this country and now the Republicans want to blame Obama?? Are you kidding me??

  21. s.... ....

    Thank You
    I enjoyed this alot : )

  22. D.... D....

It's his predecessor and that administration who is responsible for de-regulating the banks, going to war in Iraq etc. More troops are needed in afghanistan where the taliban is still florishing along with it's neighbours in pakistan. Can't blame him or the democrats who are only in the door. Obama is doing what he can with the mess the circus-clown Bush left behind.

  23. D.... D....

He may be no Martin Luther King but he's no idiot

  24. D.... D....

    Johnw456. you're the only idiot

vERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. D.... l....

I am a U.S. Army veteran not a war monger. Businessmen and politicians make war, soldiers do the fighting of them and real soldiers do not want wars. War is only necessary when all laws and rules have been unsuccessful and all other options have failed. You may be married to an American however you have not been reflective of your own views and responses, if you were you would clearly see your bias against us. I support our soldiers both U.S. and UK. And I support and celebrate our President.

  27. D.... l....

Your anti-reality-American prosocialist--proislamicterrorist--pro weakminded and cowardly.Put on a burka get on a way-back machine go back in time to "thesummer of love" and peddle your immature unrealistic sophmoric banter to people who are not living in the real world. Without soldiers --peace loving people who have the luxery of having their delicate sensativities offended by war are not thinking in a forward way. Sometimes you have to do the hard stuff to get the good stuff.

  28. D.... l....

It's nice to know that we can find some common ground in our love of history. If the truth be told I am a bit of an anglophile. From Shakespear to Merchant-Ivory films-- the Beatles to "little Britian" it's all quite nice. Glenda Jackson, Gemma Jones, Emma Thompson, John Gelgud and Alec Guiness etc.. The U.S. and UK have and will always be linked even with it's minor diagreements but as individuals I feel we should support the victories won even at the cost of human defeats.

    WHAT ABOUT TODAY Barbra Streisand
    1969

  30. D.... l....

gooday with one d....Oh wait, he's an Aussie.. Worry about your own country and try not to worry yourself over an election you couldn't possibly understand.

  31. D.... l....

"the stones" and spells color with a u-he's a brit.whose still paying for a monarchy-my grandfather helped save your asses from Hitler- my greatgrandfather seven back fought in the revolutionary war. Don't lecture about bombs and freedom you don't have a leg to stand on. In the 1920's you guys had colonial control of Iraq and didn't do much better. Go enlist or put on a burka or just plain read a history book. Spare us your useless armchair rhetoric about an election that isn't even yours. Brit.

  32. D.... l....

Those families had a whole decade to change a horrible dictatorship within there own country and they chose not to. It is a harsh reality, as a U.S. Army veteran who served in gulf war era, I can assure you that evey volunteer soldier of ours has the courage necessary to face this. So if you call the collective common sense a sheep mentality than you would have to also agree that you are on the fringes. Maybe you should either go enlist or wear a burka. You arm chair patriot.

  33. D.... l....

I could listen to this a million times

  34. D.... l....

Your impossible "one week" expectation is applicable to "most jobs". It takes longer for troop movements, political negotion scheduals are fluid and financial mechanisms have a time clock of there own. The Great Depression began in 1929 and ended in the 30s and 40s depending on the country. Problems we will always have, but take time to enjoy a celebration of human triumph over bigotry and while your at it listen to the dulcet tones of one Miss Barbra Streisand. This is a fine kinda freedom.

  35. D.... l....

I think the whole point is that after 120 years post- civil war and the emancipation of the slaves, there can be celebration as well as a recognition of achieving the first black president. It is fine. Never perfect, but fine.

  36. D.... l....

Don't be a knucklehead he hasn't even had 60 days yet...at least he isn't golfing on his ranch like Dubya was during the first 100 days of his presidency.

Jesse Owens shocked Hitler when he won his 4th olympic gold medal. Jesse Owens, the grandson of a slave would go down in history not only for his incredible athletic achievement, but for his repudiation of Hitlers racial ideas."

And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring—when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children—black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics—will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: "Free at last! 1:29-1:36 Barbra Streisand in Kenya, Africa,
circa 1972. "Streisand remembered Kenya as quite beautiful ... I remember it being so hot. We had no air conditioner or anything, so I had a little, dinky trailer. But I loved the people, the Samburu people, and I made very good friends with a woman of the tribe. We didnt speak the same language, obviously, but she understood what I was trying to say to her. She showed me how to dress. Everything was held together with safety pins .."

To express gratitude towards the Karnofskys, who took him in as almost a family member and fed and nurtured him Armstrong wore a Star of David pendant for the rest of his life.".

Janis was shocked to discover that Smith's grave had no proper headstone, so she bought one for her. In October, Janis died while in her prime, leaving behind a legacy of only a handful of recordings."_

Oh, the memories. I was brought up in Montgomery and my mother collaborated with the boycott by driving our maid back and forth across town. A small thing but rare for its time.

Now is such an exciting time and your suggestion is a good one. I hope we don't expect too much of the new President.
