We can't ever hope to fully understand truly unique and gifted people. They channel their talent given to them by God. They will tell you they don't fully understand it themselves. They just allow it to come through. Barbra is such a person and artist. Despite the emotional deprivation of her childhood, she has somehow managed to avoid many of the pitfalls of fame and success such as multiple marriages, bankruptcies, addiction, and even death. I think she has the finest singing voice at least in the second half of the 20th Century and beyond.

Love the modulation that provides a sudden secondary harmonic turn (2:17) with a quick melodic resolve thereafter. Barbra has always been the consummate genuine article. It is nice to hear her on this one while she is still "prime". She has aged like a fine wine enjoyable even until this day.. I love her voice no matter the date of the recording. I hope she is full of the appreciation of life in general and her gift in particular this very day. Thank you for your work, Barbara.

Barbra is an excellent singer, one of the best of all time, but I would argue that the versions by Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith, Joni James, and Linda Ronstadt are equally excellent.

has that unique nasal quality and vocal
range,  just makes her style and interpretative
qualities very special,  if you are a Streisand

Amy Winehouses version beats this by far and even though I love frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Babara, Amy's version is a lot better and jazzier.
