Sarah was the 1st one that sang this I heard this on the radio when I was in Chicago Ill. And I loved this number , but Barbara may have wanted to sing it like Sarah Vaughn like a lot of people say but she still has her own style of singing. BARBARA I MEAN. Both of them sound good on it. You cant knock it. but Sarah you know is 1st. Maria is my name.

She can't compare to Sarah Vaughn's version of this beautiful song, but she tries to sound like Sarah in it, so it can't be all that bad! She uses the same arrangement. Nice though.

Barbra loved the original Sarah Vaughan recording for her album "Snowbound." Many of us hoped one day Barbra would record the song and retain the sense of the Vaughan recording and that is exactly what she did. And yet there is no imitation of Vaughan in Streisand's version. That is part of Barbra's genius.
