On September 4, 2001, I sang this song to most beautiful woman, inside and out , my Glory, at our wedding reception. I lost her two years ago on May 4, 2017. I miss her so much and love her so much for ever and ever and know we will meet again.
I will be singing this song and then dance to Barbara singing the song at the LonDance Studio dance presentation Saturday July 27, 2019 at 6:00 PM to be held at one of the beautiful theaters in Laguna Woods, California. My closest family members and friends who attended our wedding will be attending and everyone is invited. I've practice and practice and now get through the song most of the time without crying.I promise you it will be a beautiful presentation. It must be!! I miss her more than anyone can image. I met someone 6 yrs ago and I fell in love with her and took her to Paris and asked her to marry me and she accepted. The relationship turned out to be an illusion. She was a narcissists she lied deceived me stole from. Cheated on me through out the relationship. It took a few years to figure it out because I believed in the illusion. Then one day 5 yrs later she discarded me because I began to realize how badly I had been manipulated and cheated on.

Now I hear this song it tears my heart apart. Because we were supposed to have been married. Her name was Jane. More than a year has gone by since she walked away just like that. And pain remains!

I heard this mysic from The Secret Garden first. Then while doing my midnight show, I found this song in a sampler when it was released. Imagine the magic! I wanted to play this on my wedding day but it was not meant to be, I guess. Maybe, when the time and chance is right. And I will include a the first song i ever learned to sing - a Streisand song, no less.

This was my wedding song when I re-married my high school love after being divorced from him for 35 years. Our son graduating from the Seminary is what brought us together again. God had a hand in this I'm sure, He blessed us again.

I have been a long time admire of Barbara. She as one of the most beautiful voices on this planet. My Mother introduce me to her music when I was a little girl. And I have loved her ever since then, I also enjoy watching the movie she's played in as well as the movies she's produce. I don't think that Barbara truly understood how her inner beauty also projected her outer beauty which also came through her voice. She has been an positive role model in my life indirectly. And I thank God for the gift he gave her (singing) more importantly her sharing her talents with the world. And I'm appreciative that my mother introduce me to quality music. And that's all that matters. And that's why I spend every nickel I have to see her smile. I just wish I could get her to see Barbra. Just one time.

My wife was hit hard with breast cancer back in 2003. Even during "chemo" she found the strength to go to the gym and do what she could. She's been cured of this beast of a disease. One fact remains: THIS VERY SONG is what gave her the strength, endurance, and willpower to totally destroy the demon known as CANCER.

"Heartstrings," written by the Norwegian composer Rolf Løvland.
Streisand asked the singer/songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway, who had
written Streisand's Higher Ground track "At the Same Time," to write lyrics to the melody so she could record it for her A Love Like Ours album.

Callaway
first tried to write around the title "Heartstrings," but Streisand
wasn't happy with the results, calling the lyrics "Too literal." In our interview with Callaway,
she explained: "I was having a lot of frustration writing a lyric with a
very simple melody. It's harder to write lyrics to a simple melody than
other types of melodies, so finally I decided: I knew she was getting
married that year, so I would write a wedding song.

What I didn't
know was that she was getting married three days later. I wrote this
song just in the nick of the time and she got the song three hours
before she was getting married and sang it at her wedding reception and
recorded it on A Love Like Ours. It's actually on six of her CDs and earned me my second platinum award, which was a big honor."

I saw Ann Hampton Calloway (songwriter) perform this one at her tribute to Barbara Streisand in Minneapolis with our wonderful Minnesota Orchestra. Had never heard the song before but hearing Barbara herself sing it is just breathtaking.

I had not heard this before. I do like it. She has got to be The Greatest Female Singer in the world thru out time. Nobody has been in demand like her for the past 50 years
