Streetlight Manifesto Toe To Toe Comments
The baritone solo intro at 1:40 is nothing but perfect 👌 the whole thing is.
I heard this song from a guy singing it on a cs casual server 4 years ago. I really wish I knew how he was doing or anything that's happened since then.
This almost sounds like an AJJ song. Almost.
all of these comments from 3+ years ago and this song just keeps giving joy and nostalgia to everyone who hears it.
Hello fellow time traveler
"And I don't care what you do with the little time everyone gets, as long as you do the math, choose a path that'll never hurt anyone else. Although they'll hurt you, make sure they've heard you, and they will not forget"- Toe To Toe. Line didn't really mean anything to me until this girl at my school was hit by a drunk driver right outside of school and was killed. I didn't really know her, but it hit everyone hard. And that line really sums it up for me.
Izzy Fizz that’s really sad dude
Easy hard work
A few months ago, my favorite Streetlight song was The Hands that Thieve. A little later, it was Down, Down, Down, to Mephisto's Cafe. After that, it was We Are The Few. Then, Oh Me, Oh My. Then A Better Place, A Better Time. A little later, They Broke Him Down. Now, it's Toe to Toe. Conclusion: if I can go through all these favorite songs for one band, they are one of the best bands in the history of music

What is this song about?
Someday you will grow up and learn to lie
Just like your daddy did when he told you no one ever really dies
I hope that I'm not there when you realize
That those with their nose in the air will never look you in the eye
And you will go
Toe to toe
Like David and Goliath
Who will be Goliath
And will you will throw the stone?
I don't know
Yeah I don't know
Said the man with all of the answers
If he don't have the answers
How will I ever know?
I knew an old man
With nothing to do but wait
He invited himself
And he still showed up late
When it came to the end of the night
He would always overstay
But I never had a reason to complain
'Til the day that he stopped coming by and I missed his company
And you will go
Toe to toe
Like David and Goliath
They will be Goliath
And you will throw the stone
I don't know
Yeah I don't know
Said the man with all of the answers
If he don't have the answers
How will I ever know
And I don't care
What you do with the little time everyone gets
As long as you do the math, choose a path that'll never hurt anyone else
Although they'll hurt you
Make damn sure they've heard you
They will not forget
Someday I will find you and stop on by
And you'll say: "How've you been"
And I'll say: "I've been fine"
But we will both know that it's a lie
Turns out what I figured out was I was wrong and you were right
And you will go
Toe to toe
Like David and Goliath
They will be Goliath
And you will throw the stone
I don't know
Yeah I don't know
Said the man with all of the answers
If he don't have the answers
How will I ever know
Thank You, Big Bird, Very Cool!
Bold of you to assume i dont know the lyrics
someday you will grow up and learn to lie
Loving that baritone sax solo!
Who else went to the concert in Phoenix Arizona 2017
They played the somewhere in the between album
why the fuck is this video monetized
why shouldn't it be?
those opening lyrics could be sold as an album and i would buy three copies
totally agree
that Bari solo though 😍
Ryan Carter riiiiiiight
great music
Amazing song. All amazing musicians. Amazing band. Streetlight Manifesto forever!
Ill listen to Streetlight till the day I die
I like Toh Kay's verses better, but the horns in Streetlight's version are perfect
Oh dear god i'm so glad that I wasn't the only streetlight manifesto fan xD like this comment if you thought so too :P
Easily one of my favorite Streetlight songs
fuck me, I'm fucked, this song hits me hard right now, busy ETSing from the army
When this song started, everyone stood still and started to sing, magical moment. Metropolis 2015 montreal
+LeBuno DeLaVie Vivement qu'ils se repointent au Metropolis pour une 6e année consécutive en 2016, ha!
been there done thath ! 2014 , 2015 and i hope , for sure 2016 !
+sophie roy sa serait magique !
It was perfect.
+LeBuno DeLaVie Rockfest 2016
Listened to the bari sax solo probably 6 times now and it's still on repeat. Well played Streetlight, well played. (Literally)
just saw them tonight. ive grown up listening to this amazing band for over a decade, and tonight i felt all of those years in their highs and lows. what a phenomenal experience.
Saw these guys a few days ago. The whole crowd joined arm over shoulder into a line and swayed back and forth to this song, all smiles and crowd sing. It's like everyone's your best friend all of the sudden.
+Ed Katynski I listened to the Toh Kay cover of The Hands That Thieve, and only 1 commenter that wasn't me seemed to realize it was a cover.
Yeah its pretty crazy. This whole crowd is great to mosh with.
Samuel, Toh Kay (Tomas Kalnoky), is the lead singer of Streetlight. Can you cover your own song?
this comment made my heart warm
ScotchRobbins been to 8 streetlight shows. Can confirm :)
Sounds like Matt Reddin singing lol. (These are for Roblox MadCast fans)

I am a die hard 3rd wave ska fan and i must say that this new album by Streetlight is absolutely phenomenal. I saw them play at the house of blues in Chicago for their beginning of the end tour and it was the craziest most fun concert i have ever been to and i wish it would have lasted longer, but i most definitely would gladly see them play anytime in the future hands down. Please keep on keepin on streetlight! Love the music an please keep playing!!
@0:25 i literally thought he said "Matt Damon and a Lion"
You just ruined one of my favorite streetlight songs for me. I'm never going to unhear that.
+Double Breakfast same...
We all have to live and die, the truth about it concerns us all. *_Google Truthcontest_* and click the first link. This is truth you can and should check for yourselves.
I saw them last night and they played this and it was AMAZING! <3
Took some time, but after playing the trumpet solo over and over and over again, finally got it down. Coupled with the bari solo, where you can hear the buttons of the sax and the breaths he takes between each section, such a great 47 seconds of musicianship.
@***** If you look on Amazon, theres some pretty acceptable trumpets for about $100, and trombones for 150. I'd say if you got some extra cash, go for it.
Learning any of the trumpet parts in Streetlight songs is fun as hell. I've got parts of We Will Fall Together, Forty Days, and Would You Be Impressed down, and they're really fun to play.
The pickup to the sax solo is heavenly. :D
Dat bari solo though. Absolutely incredible.
SM became too whiney in my view
Sus scrofu from my point of view, the younglings were winy!
Dueling baritone and trumpet solos. Amazing.
David was a shepherd from the bible who was extremely weak.. and goliath was the giant no soldier or man could beat and david took his slingshot and knocked him out with rocks
@Edwin Collis
And Noah died at age 950 ... that's much crazier :)
i know like seriously
@frovil well it was easier to live till 950 because the earth was much cleaner and there was no pollution to poison us overtime
@Seth Goodman But back in those days people died due to minor cuts. Noah would have had to stay in a bubble all 950 of those years, and he still probably wouldn't have made it. Buuuuuuuuttttttt that doesn't matter
+Jake Woodard yeah, but I mean they were probably watched very closely and were made sure they didn't die you know
david vs goliath, get ready for revolution, yeah
Cough this song is amazing cough
Wow. I think that fallencrowsnest had it right.
It's a sax in the solo at 1:40 right?
The man is in Tomas's head. He refers to "the man" often, including his artwork.
listen to the chorus.
idk who David is, you talking about Tomas?
thebrand25 David and Goliath
Indeed...
:F
You
Lucky
Bastard
I think Streetlight's lyrics go far beyond their quarrel's with a record label.
I saw Streetlight last night in Providence, RI and they ended up playing this. It was beautiful. I'm going to miss them touring :(
For some reason, this song makes me really sad. It's not supposed to. But I love the trombone part holy shit.
My internet connection is at 2 bars on my laptop. for some reason, when the song freezes and i start the song over and give it time to load, the video forgets all of the buffering that it already did. fuck you google.
knew an old man who had nothing to do but wait, he invited himself and he still showed up late. when it came to the end of the night he would always overstay. i never had a reason to complain. until the day he stopped coming by and i missed his company.... :'(
Anybody else hearing some of Down Down Down to Mephisto's Cafe in this?
I feel like a lot of this album is reminiscent of that one song in particular. Such emphasis on making yourself heard, regardless of how you'll find yourself in the end. Not forcing yourself to choose a side to fight for, but instead living according to your own values.
God, music is great.
Streetlight is great.
People are great.
what a beautiful song. bari and trumpet are just...beautiful.
Couldn't agree more! and I don't know what it is, but I love that you can hear the keys clicking as he plays.
Misspelling. :P
Your comment was awesome, by the way. I honestly didn't see the parallels before you pointed them out.
His voice.. just like in the beginning... just makes me smile...
that bari solo kills me!
Thanks for posting this!
