You've heard it said, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Tell me how do you have feelings of love toward your enemy? You don't, you choose to be kind or patient, regardless of the type of relationship, friend or foe. So, yes, you're correct to say love is choosing not to hate, however wrong to relate it to your heart or emotions.

@Thatquietchick08 I honestly think that could be part of being in love but that's not what love is. Love is when you can see yourself with someone forever and you would die for them. That is love too me. But people can have different opinions on what love is.
