Strawberry Alarm Clock - Tomorrow Lyrics

Tomorrow
Things won't be the same
Tomorrow
Life would be a different game

But right now I am with you, and
Together we can make it through
Ba-ba-ba...

Forever
Our love might last
Forever
Will it come too fast

But right now I am with you, and
Together we can make it through
Ba-ba-ba...

We live in a world
Of carnivals and clowns
And buildings to the sky
That make us want to fly

But right now I am with you, and
Together we can make it through
Ba-ba-ba...

We live in a world
Of carnivals and clowns
And buildings to the sky
That make us want to fly

But right now I am with you, and
Together we can make it through
But right now I am with you, and
Together we can make it through
Wow

This is one of my favorite SAC songs after "I'm Coming Home", The organ and guitar sound like Manzarek and Krieger with harmonies reminiscent of The Association.

  7. B.... G....

Peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1968. Strawberry Alarm Clock are pretty damn awesome!!!

  8. H.... z....

This should have been a big hit, it was the perfect psychedelic pop rock single follow up to Incense! I remember having the 45.

  12. G.... T....

They don't make songs like this anymore. I am glad I was raised during the golden age of rock and roll!

    G.... T....

    Amen brother, me too!

  13. E.... -....

    Great drumming on this piece!

  19. D.... H....

Dig randys drumming and eds fuzzy lead. Good stuff👍🏻

    D.... H....

Ed also recorded the bass on this track

  20. A.... R....

    This is soooo 60's

  21. H.... 2....

I'm 18, and I wish I was born in this time, music was better (by a long shot) and I wouldn't have to worry about offending everyone I talk to...

    H.... 2....

    Same 😔

    H.... 2....

You realize that you Can Now Listen To This Song ONLY because of Internet And For FREE.
    Now What's Better Than That!

    H.... 2....

I was born too late as well and I'm 41 years old. I think the sweet spot would've been 1950

    H.... 2....

You'd have been listening to this in Vietnam tho lol

  22. t.... t....

Ed King died today. Will miss his musical genius!

  23. d.... ....

Sounds great! I almost like this as much as "Incense and Peppermints".

  24. l.... v....

    Love this song forever! 💜

  25. T.... H....

I was cleaning out my bong and found some black butter.

  26. H.... N....

Love Incense and Peppermints more but this is also a good song. Fond memories hearing it on the old am radio during the summer in the late 60`s. The kids don`t know what good music we had back in our days. Still sounds good 50 years later. Also, the Blue Magoos and The Seeds had a couple of good songs back then such as Ain`t Seen Nothing Yet and
Can`t Seem To Make You Mine respectively.

  27. A.... J....

We worship thee, oh Mighty Vox Continental!

  28. R.... V....

Great song by a great band. Most new music is stupid meaningless and sounds horrible.

  29. A.... C....

the ending gets me in a good way every time

  30. O.... Y....

Thank you for posting this. ^_^

  31. H.... N....

Remember hearing this and Incense and Peppermints on the air in the late 60s. These songs were underrated.

    H.... N....

Henry Niznik do you remember the summer of love?

    H.... N....

Yes I do. I was 16 and remember hearing The Cowsills` Flower Girl, Jefferson Airplane`s White Rabbit , and too many others to mention. One of my all time favorites is Eric Burdon and The Animals San Francisco. So much great music in 1967. Too much of it is not played on the radio, especially psychedelic rock .Never hear a great song such as Status Quo`s Pictures Of Matchstick Men.

  32. L.... P....

We live in a world of carnivals and clowns...

  33. m.... ....

2 minutes? Felt like 10 in a GOOD WAY.

  34. E.... O....

I'm 71, and this takes me back too!!!!! it WAS a better time!!

    E.... O....

Elf Owl do you remember the summer of love?

  35. N.... D....

This song captures most peoples dislike for the "modern" way of life.  Back then it was the Viet Nam war and all of the race riots but this song can be applied to now as well.  And to think when this came out I was only 19 years old and it's still relevant today.  What I dislike about now, among other things, is everyone is glued to their stupid "smart" phones not looking around at the people and world around them and they don't talk. I was in the waiting room of my car dealership waiting for my car and everyone around me was staring down at a phone except me.  The room was deadly quiet, you could've heard a pin drop - creepy that's what it was.  And I tried saying something to the woman next to me that it looked like a storm was blowing in and she acted annoyed that I knocked her out of her coma.  People have lost the ability to be communicating humans, it's scary.  Jeez, what is so damned fascinating that can't wait until you get home?  I've got a computer and a cell phone but I don't want to have the computer with me in the car, in the doctors office, in the grocery store, everywhere I go.  I want to be unplugged to experience the natural world because if we ignore and trivialize nature we will lose it if we are not careful.

  36. J.... A....

    Well, now I'm 64!

  37. P.... M....

    Ed King was guitarist

    P.... M....

He wrote the bridge to this song as well.. "We live in a world of carnivals & clowns...."

  38. H.... M....

Loved the movie Pysch-out alarm clock and seeds played

    H.... M....

My favorite movie of all time! Loved the late 1960s atmospherics......first saw "Psych-Out" when I was 7 or 8 years old & it has stuck with me forever!!!

  39. K.... B....

Heard this on CKLW way back there and have loved it ever since.

  40. C.... R....

we live in a world of carnivals and clowns, with buildings to the sky that make us want to fly

    C.... R....

I sing it as Carnivores and Frowns

  41. R.... G....

I was an elementary school kid in the 60s, always thought Strawberry Alarm Clock had only one song, until recently. There is a certain magic of the 60's now lost: that exquisite but rhythmic vocal harmony that may remind you of a college glee club--you hear it especially in groups like The Association, 3 Dog Night, Mamas & Papas, and Strawberry Alarm Clock. People don't SING together like that anymore! Of course I've been a bassist in heavy metal groups, and I now listen to the likes of Coldplay, Jackie Evancho, Anna Graceman, (Arabic pop) Shams Bandar...but I really miss the vocal harmony of 60s.

  42. T.... H....

    TIMELESS !

  43. H.... M....

Strawberry Alarm Clock had a few gods LP's !!

  44. m.... m....

Absolutely love this song! I've loved it for almost 5 decades!

  45. N.... D....

Another great 1968 hit song.  I just love the guitar solo starting at 1:22.

    N.... D....

Nancy Desch That solo was played by Ed King, later of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  46. B.... S....

Perfect song for a beautiful summer day!! Glad you all those this song and these guys as much as me! Finally I have found more of my people

  47. M.... ....

    1st heard this on Laugh-In

    M.... ....

    veeeeeery interesting

  48. F.... ....

A great tune. A timeless piece that still holds it's weight today andis still as fresh and alive as it was it 1968!

  49. U.... 7....

I show my co workers this, they look at me as if I were from another universe.. smh. true music is never appreciated...

    U.... 7....

don't worry people look at me weird all the time when I show them thats why I stopped lol this should be appreciated by people like us

    U.... 7....

Your coworkers are aliens from another planet

    U.... 7....

I like this song, too. I'll bet your co-workers are closet lovers of this song. Example: I've been told by friends of mine that they like a certain song, even though in public they say they don't! LOL

  50. E.... O....

GREAT SONG!!!! thanks for the post, remember it well from 1968, love it.

  51. F.... C....

Tengo 29 años de edad, pero creo que esta cancion es bien chida. Bien bonita

  52. K.... ....

tomorrow is another day, or what you can do today do it better tomorrow

  53. J.... ....

THIS IS A TOTALLY BITCHIN SONG!!!! IT'S A HIT!!!!! IT SHOULD BE RE-RELEASED!!!!  I was 17 when this came out and really didn't hear it, because it had to compete against a few bigger groups like THE BEATLES, CREAM, THE DOORS JIMI HENDRIX, DONOVAN, THE ROLLING STONES, ETC, ETC!!!!

  54. J.... A....

I'm 62.  This takes me back to a much better time.

    J.... A....

Me as well. Hearing that Farfisa organ always brings me back to hot summer pavements and fierce sun...

    J.... A....

Nancy Hahn WSAI AM? You mean there was actually free form psychedelic music in the '60's? Where was this cool station located then? Thanks in advance for your reply.

    J.... A....

John A. Better time? Well, this single charted at the beginning of 1968, which was an exceptionally traumatic year with college student takeovers, endless Vietnam War, intense war protests, airline hijackings, student riot at Democratic Convention, environmental disasters, and two major assinations. Throw in continued Soviet Union menacings (including Czecheslovakia invasion). Even then, everyone thought the world was blowing up. Would we survive to see 1969? But at least there was plenty of great music! ( This song isnt among the greats, though.)
    )

    J.... A....

    I’m 19 and still agree 😂

    J.... A....

    To "yesterday"?

  55. a.... ....

I really, REALLY HATE (from the bottom of my heart) typical generic commercial golden oldies radio formats (who play the top-1000 oldies in random order!!) they FLAT-OUT IGNORE this wonderful stuff from "LATE 1967"...

    Darling-Beach Boys
Lazy Days-Spanky (McFarlane) and Our Gang
The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener (on the other side)--Petula Clark
    Zabadak-Mickey, beaky, Tich, etc.
    In And Out Of Love-Supremes
    Tomorrow-Strawberry Alarmclock
    Pata Pata-Miriam Makeba
    Purple Haze-Jimi Hendrix
    Never My Love-Association
    Hello Goodbye-Beatles

I'm giving away my F-ing age, But guess what! LOL!!! I don't really give a flying MF*** at a rolling donut! LOL!!!!!! :))) :)))) :))))

    a.... ....

The Spanky, Supremes, Hendrix, Association, and Beatles songs you mentioned are covered quite often by my local oldies station. Here's some mid-to-late-60's stuff they ignore (that I think others would like):

Baby Washington That's How Heart Aches Are Made
Cass Elliot/Lovin Spoonfull Didn't want to have to do it
Christopher Blue You`ve Got What I Like
Cindy Malone Run Away From Him
Country Joe & the Fish Section 43
Dino, Desi & Billy Thru Spray Coloured Glasses
    Geoff Goddard Sky Men
Helena Ferguson Where Is the Party
    Laura Nyro Stoney End
Little Anthony & The Imperials My Love Is A Rainbow
Nino Tempo & April Stevens All Strung Out
Pamela Releford He's Alright With Me
    Patti Drew Tell Him
    Peggy Gaines One Step Ahead
    Rotary Connection Memory Band
Spiral Starecase Our Day Will Come
The Arcades There Got To Be A Loser
The Beach Boys Let Him Run Wild
The Everly Brothers Baby, What You Want Me To Do (live at the Detroit Oympia 1963)
The Jaggerz Gotta Find My Way Back Home
The Monkees Don't Call On Me
    The Nickel Bag God's Gifts
The Shangri-Las Give Him a Great Big Kiss (live on Shindig 10/1965)
The Walker Brothers Make It Easy On Yourself

    a.... ....

I agree. It's one thing if they're new songs and there's always a turnover, but to play the same songs year in and year out and ignore others galls me too.

    a.... ....

Agree. Radio hardly plays any of the good psychedelic rock from the late 1960s such as Status Quo, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Blue Magoos, Electric Prunes, and others. Thank God I can get them on YouTube.
By the way, I never did any drugs .

    a.... ....

"By the way, I never did any drugs" Are you boasting or saying that with shame? (The answer may influence whether anyone believes that you lived through the 60's)

    a.... ....

They ignore a LOT of GREAT music. It's very frustrating!!

  56. R.... G....

    Love this song!

    R.... G....

    Same here!

  57. S.... A....

Love this tune---From The "Strawberry Alarm Clock"!!!

  58. M.... B....

A forgotten yet great track. They always mixed at least one instrument way too loud, in this case the shaker.

  59. E.... O....

GREAT SONG! remember it well from the 60's, one their best.

  60. R.... T....

The 2 dislikes don't know what day it is because they are brain damaged from too much angel dust!

  61. m.... ....

The shit I saw to this song.

  62. S.... ....

They need to get stoned -- oh wait, you're talking weed not rocks.

  63. c.... b....

I heard this was the A side on a single and Incence and Peppermints was the B side. Incense and Peppermints became the big hit. I do not remember where I heard it, but I did.

  64. B.... ....

This song is also on "Incense and Peppermints."

  65. A.... ....

two people need to get stoned and laid.

  66. H.... K....

    The 60's brought me here

  67. M.... ....

    Laugh-In brought me here!

  68. A.... C....

Oh my omnipresent cosmos... groovy bananas.

  69. j.... ....

I don't recall this from my youth. I listened to WOWO, a censorship-happy station in Ft. Wayne Indiana. They may have been scared off after discovering the meaning of Incense and Peppermints.
Among the songs censored: Kodochrome (line 1) by Paul Simon, Rich Girl by Hall and Oates (alternate chorus), possibly even Long Train Runnin' by the Doobies, since I can't remember it from my childhood either.

  70. J.... C....

This is Insane!!!!! Must have been amazing to live through a time when music was acutally made by real musicians dam todays music

  71. b.... ....

The Emperor agrees; this is a song worthy of the Empire.

  72. n.... ....

Fair enough, both cities had a plethora of bands. Most LA bands had a more commercial trendy cliche of the moment sound. The exception being Zappa and Beefheart.Frisco on the other hand was cutting edge and pushing the envelope of rock.LA always had a large and enthusiastic scene of followers, but not originators from the hippies to country rock (Ronstadt,Eagles) to Punk and Hair Metal.LA always late and always just doing the most rote versions.

  73. K.... A....

this was an sf group...am i wrong?i think the bay area had produced many greats from that time

  74. J.... C....

I remember this song. Damn I'm old !!!

  75. e.... ....

    great song. love it!

  76. t.... j....

their music is freakin chill & trippy my fav

  77. n.... ....

What a bunch of hacks, typical of the Los Angeles scene. While San Fran was turning out the real acid bands,LA was puting out weak bubblegum imitators. From the backing la la la vocals to the go-go beat and contrived lyrics,SAC had a cliched forgetable sound that blended in with all the AM pop music of the time.

  78. .... ....

This has go take some acid written all over it

  79. K.... H....

Me finding this is the equivalent to me finding someone not masturbating on Chat Roulette. IT'S AWESOME!

  80. j.... t....

im digging how i find myself at this when i seach simon and garfunkel! damn....

  81. M.... M....

@Moodiesfanalways This song should have charted better than Incense & Peppermints in my opinion.

  82. J.... P....

Their lead guitarist, Ed King, went on to greater fame with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  83. J.... .....

Wake Up... It's Tomorrow! alright! im gonna take another acid! :D!

  84. T.... N....

beautiful and happy, as ever - thumbs up:D

  85. m.... ....

    @858Marissa shrooms and lsd

  86. e.... ....

Pretty good guitar solo. Last note's flat, tho.

  87. T.... ....

    DELICIOUS

  88. m.... ....

i love this song sooo much the minute i heard it I went out to by the cd and it is so before my time well it's a year older than me .. so 60ish it so cool :)

  89. S.... E....

This is an excellent example of it's genre. I don't know why this song didn't catch on.

  90. S.... L....

by the way "Wake Up... It's Tomorrow"... is the coolest album name in the world!

  91. F.... ....

    Perfect song for stoners

  92. B.... D....
