been listening to this EP again. what a GEM of an album.

They changed their name from Downside to Strata, then kicked out the lead and are now BetaState.

What happened to these guys I love there music.

Hey, hard night for me... I discovered, cause' "strata" in my language (polish) means a loss. My friend died last night. I can't believe this. I typed strata at youtube search and that was a first result. I've loved "sleep" from first chord. It's so personal for me and the other people that know Bartek. If any one can and know how to do it... it's simple... please pray for him. Good night World.

Strata was a great band who didn't have time enough to know it. It's sad. But thank's to let "sleep" in the music history...

I remember going to see them play at the Cactus Club and Gaslighters... Man, SJ Local music scene kicked ass back then!!
They would play will all these mini tv's on stage awesome-o

They started a new band called Beta State and are still auditioning for singers. which is dumb imo. They need to try and find someone more close to them and stop with this process that's been going on forever.

I think Eric was afraid of the band getting too big. I talked to him a month before he left the band. He's real shy, a bit reserved. Or he just didn't like the musical direction they were going in. who knows.

My ex-girlfriend literally lived right across the street from where these dudes practiced as Downside and somewhat as Strata. The Bassist lived there and needless to say I heard them practice several times and saw them live at the Cactus Club in downtown San Jose when it was still open (long time ago). Good memories.

Eric, the singer made a new band because he didn't think Strata was going where he wanted to go ( I think that's right ). The band is called The Limousines

Its a bit late to reply to you LachozaTube, but I figured I would in case you hadn't found out yet.
As far as I have gathered, he didn't see Strata going where he wanted to go musically, so he left to make his own band.

they don't have a new singer yet. they're still auditioning for one.

I had another fan send me the downside album on aim a while ago when I was looking for "coma therapy" before their last album was released.

i've got the whole downside "sleep" album.

theyre not breaking up eric has left the band they are gettin a new singer
