Stranglers, The - Outside Tokyo Lyrics
Somewhere outside Tokyo
Invented time
Someone in a factory
Invented time
If people wanted proof to
50 million watches with a
Strap to sell
50 million watches with a
Strap to sell
If people wanted proof to
Carry on they'd like to buy one
If they should ever sell out
That would be the end of (time)
Be the end of time

DESPUÉS 40 YEARS SIGUE SIENDO MI LP FAVORITO.....GRANDES STRANGLERS
One of the first bass lines I learned, Yippieeeeeee!
That was a well-selected moment for THE BEGINNING OF DAYS or just lucky I guess.
Brilliant!!!from this masterpiece album.
שלום מפורטוגל, ידידי!
little so big masterpiece
one of their most beautiful songs.
@ TeamSTVJ I must express my gratitude and a desire to be on your team!
the stranglers love a waltz eh?
The best for sure 100%
One of the best albums ever made as far as I´m concerned.
He is a class A C**t. Imagine how many bands with amazing talent must be losing out to his manufactured crap. Songs with no deep meanings written for them...I remember when people were celebrities for a reason.
don't cry cos it's over, smile because it happened
class class class class and class... best group ever ... fact
one of the greats,period
@eightpans I'm 15, and I wish I lived in the past now, and I couldn't agree more :)
Go and see them now mate they are still awesome live even without Hugh who mellowed out too much towards the end. New album is also good classic Stranglers
@almklit A brillient unsung classic this album!
I went to see them at Bridlington Spa in 1979, I was 17. Today as I approach 50 I yearn for those days back ...but they will never come will they......
@MrPeanutDojo Sorry fella was a bit hammered that night and on a downer listening to some old tunes I like
Poor old 'aimkit' obviously locked in a black world, be it mental/physical: and just fk'd!
@eightpans you just go around posting the same comment on different strangler songs for top comment? wtf?
never heard a bass like JJs awesome
@thewrecker36 agreed jjburnell is king... the only french man i love
Not one of their greatest hits, but for me the ultimate track.
Svara på det här videoklippet... And, by the way, one of the best albums ever made. Not very popular or remembered ...but..that´s the way it is.
@almklit I say: this is one of the best songs ever! that´s all!
I jumped off a 3rd story roof back in 79 or so, and in the loony bin, my best friend gave me this album....he passed away some years later..but he was my door into what has turned out being a joyful music journey... and so were the stranglers...wonderful to hear this tune again. thanks for posting.
I want to go back to when I was 17 .....I hope Simon Cowell chokes on his money !
yeah that bass just drops right in with a crunch
Stranglers!!!!!
A collection of songs that exudes bleak war torn imagery and references the cold war dystopia to great effect. The black side sought to capture post apocalyptic destruction with a stark sneer of cold command, the white side reflected a libertarian utopian landscape where robots rule and armies conquer. The sleeve depicts the band silouetted against a white background symbolising the intense white light of an atomic explosion, thus reflecting the entrenched paranoia that existed in the 1970's.
Agree, pure Stranglers!! heavy walking bass, light drumming, off tune vox, melodic keys! I'll be playing this track and the other intrumentals for years to come!! thanks for posting..
Absolute classic!
Acquired taste, but pure stranglers!
