George is the King. My kids are fans too because we'd listen to him on long drives. I'd tell them stories about my youth and how a Strait song was a part of it....Now they tell everyone that they think of me when they hear a Strait song. No better compliment!

I once knew a guy from Idabel Oklahoma named John Lacy who epitomized what George Strait sang about so many years.

George Strait was a good country singer. I love all his songs. I listen to this song every October and November every year. We haven't had fall like weather here quite yet. We still have leaves on our trees. Going to be in the 70s here on Thursday and Friday talking thunderstorms and then Snow Saturday night. So it looks like we're going to skip fall by the end of this week.

Would have had 53, but still, nobody will break George Strait's 44 career Billboard #1 hits. Just like no mlb player will break Pete Rose's 4,256 career base hits.
