Strait, George - Tell Me Something Bad About Tulsa Lyrics

Love is so beautiful
When everything is fine
But when it is like hers and mine
It lives and dies at least
Ten Thousand
Times

[Chorus:]
Tell me something bad about Tulsa
How those old oil wells
Smell in the wind
Tell me something bad about Tulsa
So I won't have to go back
Believing I belong there
Again

Eyes as blue as Tulsa skis
I kept getting lost in when I met her
Hair like Oklahoma sand
I could run my hands through forever
But all good things must end
All rivers have to bend
I keep runnin' out
But she keeps pullin' me back in

[Chorus]

Tell me something bad about Tulsa
So I won't have to go back
Believing I belong there
Again

Strait, George Tell Me Something Bad About Tulsa Comments
  1. Dan Hill

He even make those old oil wells sound like they smell nice. 😆 I've never been there, but I'm guessing that's not the case. I guess you enjoy any smell that reminds you of home.

    Brian Shield

You hit the nail on the head. It's a smell of home especially for us who grew up around the oil field and have left for some reason or other.

  95. Kenebneb1

you do know that he does not write his own tunes right? this one was written by Red Lane and others like :Ocean Front Property was written by Dean Dillon, Hank Cochran, Royce Porter and Fool Hearted Memory (his first #1) was written by Byron Hill Blake Mevis and "Unwound" was written by Dean Dillon Frank Dycus.Country still uses the singer/songwriter format and I think it is the best and alot of modern music should go back to it. I still love George he really knows how to make a song come alive.

  96. Amy Wright

    @mikiecope

  97. Rachel W

    TULSA!!!

  98. accent77

It has an exceedingly high murder rate, especially in the area around the chicken shack.

  99. G. Rains

I'm an oldie, been hanging onto his songs since "Unwound" was a hit. I remember hearing this song for the first time, sitting on I-275 outside Cincinnati, in heavy traffic, wondering how in the hell does this man keep making hit after hit after hit? Thinking that no two songs sound alike. I'm still in amazement. He NEVER runs out of songs. Or hits. Long live Strait.

  100. JoeLouis6624

My God man... Is it even possible for someone to be this awesome? There is no doubt in my mind this man is the greatest in the world
