Was excited until I heard the song. My god, shoot the engineer! Was like the audio version of chewing on tin foil! Everything just sounds over-modulated. WTF, guys?! ><

@Apochs.net I mean is it only when production is done poorly when it could be done better? Or do bands early albums bother you as well because production is often sloppy? Because if you can excuse it in one area I dont see why you cant for the other

​@imuglierthanyou I run a metal review site (I forget when but been at least ten years if not more) and various others prior. I have listened to the worst production, and the best. I have heard raw analog 8-track live black metal recordings that didn't give me as big a headache as this one song did in two minutes. Thousands of releases in over twenty years of being a metal fan, and only a handful have ever made me quit due to it causing physical pain. This audio quality - whether it be the sound engineering, how the mastering turned out, or the studio itself - literally caused me physical pain.

So no. No I cannot look past it. And I said something about it. Because it is so bad it makes it impossible for me to appreciate the music. The music of which I have zero qualms about. The artistry seems good from what I heard. It is the audio, the technical aspect (which I liken to being bad engineering or garbage mastering) that is the problem. So please stop acting like we are being arrogant. It is bad, and the band or label should ask for all moneys returned to put towards pulling a Nevermore and have the album remixed and remastered by someone competent like they did with Enemies of Reality.

@Apochs.net should have realized the .net originally. Makes sense why even though you say "dont call me arrogant" while it reads like you get high on your farts. You've been a metal head less time than me so I dont give a shit about you trying to flex it. Its meaningless. Me saying it doesnt even really count. And it wouldnt really matter if I were a metalhead 5. I understand that in "journalism" of today you have to try and say something that grabs attention to what you say. Its marketing. I get it.

As a metalhead since 1997, i will have to agree with you on this. And it´s not only this album.
I still remember when these guys came up with their first self titled album, back in 2002. Since i was, and still am, a big Power Metal fan, i was excited to hear a new band like them making such a great sound. Next album, "Northern Rage", was also great. But then, they released "Heading Northe". All i could think was "what the fuck is wrong with the voice?" I did not made it to the end of the album. And i gave up following the band. But i would still enjoy very much the first 2 albuns. Today, i discovered they have a new album, and i got curious. Well, the voice sounds even worse. And usually, i am not the most picky person about the production, but you´re right, it is bad. I listened 2 songs and had enough. It´s sad, because i like the band, and the songs are good. But i will go back to the first albuns, and stay there.
