Stone Temple Pilots - Where The River Goes Lyrics
Yeah, I could hide in the calm of the eye of the storm
And never blow away
Well, I'm a young man with a knife to my back
Some things never seem to change
Sing the song or keep it inside
Bought the farm, but the farmer done died
Sing that song, sing that song inside
I wish I could live in the dream
that I fly on the tarred & freathered wings
Well, I'm losing a game of reality
dice where the dealer never ever pays
Nowhere to run to, nowhere to hide
Bought the farm, but the farmer done died
Sing that song, sing that song inside
I wanna be as big as a mountain
I wanna fly as high as the sun
I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven
I wanna know where the river goes
Yeah, I could hide in the calm of the eye of the storm
And never blow away
Well, I'm a young man with a knife to my back
Some things never seen to change
Nowhere to run to, nowhere to hide
Sing the song or keep it inside
Bought the farm, but the farmer done died
Sing that song, sing that song inside
I wanna be as big as a mountain
I wanna fly as high as the sun
I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven
I wanna know where the river goes
If I was stronger
I could be a mountain range
If night was longer
Could I escape the day?
If I was stronger
I could be a mountain range
If night was longer
Could I escape the day?
Nowhere to run to, nowhere to hide
Sing the song or keep it inside
Bought the farm, but the farmer done died
Sing that song, sing that song inside
I wanna be as big as a mountain
I wanna fly as high as the sun
I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven
I wanna know where the river...
I wanna be as big as a mountain
I wanna fly as high as the sun
I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven
I wanna know where the river goes
Where the river goes
Where the river goes
Where the river, yeah
Where the river
Where the river
Where the river
Where the river
Where the river goes
Where the river goes

I wish I was born in America
Yeah, This ain't the same place I grew up.
Such an underrated masterpiece of a song! One of STP's best if you ask me.
Been crankin' STP since I first heard them in the 90's. All my Idols gone to heroin...Layne, Kurt and Scott. I know the struggle all too well. Hopefully I'm jamming with you all soon. We'll make a hell of a band🤘🏻
Lord Jesus bring you the peace and resolve they never seem to have found. Amen!!
@rebirth70 Thank you, bub. I really appreciate that. I think I'm beyond redemption but there's always a chance. Thanks again 💜💜
@Nellie Silvers Let me give you a verse form the Bible, that proves we are all redeemable. Its called the Gospel of Grace. THe verse is ROmans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. SO just believe that verse in your heart and you will be redeemed, By your Father GOd in heaven. SOmeone shared that with me during a rough time. Had a profound effect on me. THe simplicity of it blew me away. Thats all I have to do is believe that verse and I am redeemed. Life changing. HOpe it has the effect on you, it did on me. not forcing anything on you. Just sharing something alot of people are not aware of. Have a good one.
This song is sounds like a combination of 1.)ledzeppellin - when the levee breaks 2.) White Zombie- Warp Asylum 3.) Nirvana- Blew

Core is a masterpiece from beginning to end. This is my favorite song from it. RIP Scot Weiland
104 people wanna know what the rent's like in Heaven...
Sounds and feels like When the Levee Breaks. Awesome.
the first 3 STP albums always had an epic song to end the album.
One of the most prolific, & iconic rock bands to come out of the early nineties. RIP, Scott your unbelievable voice was silenced way too soon, but your musical legacy you left us, will continue to shine on.
I used to blast this album in my bedroom when I was a teenager. One day my Dad knocked on the door and asked "what's that band you are listening to?" and at that time he never had any love for my music....that day he actually appreciated something I was into.
Anybody else hear the Alice in Chains influence in this song??
Hugo Nongbri and Black Sabbath
Where The River Goes
Kitchenware & Candybars are very similar
Both of them are the last songs on the albums
Core and Purple
Their both the longest songs on the albums
Both of them deal with rivers
What is it Harvey. No contrey for old Men!
Was the Sandmans daughter Hope?

One of my favorite songs!!! RIP Scott Weiland!
Eargasm🤘
Back door sluts 9 brought me here...
When I was teen, discovering of this masterpiece was enormus important and mindblowning for me. In that time, lyrics was the most important for me because there were a lot of things that I couldn't understand, especially myself. When I heard news about Scot's death I was in shock and really sad.
Scot, I hope you are at better place now. I hope you are in peace now.
This song has perhaps STP’s best chorus.
Lots of Aerosmith "Round and round" in there. It's crazy to think tyler and perry are still alive as well as jagger and Richards and all the grunge icons are dead
Soundgarden like 👍
They all were alike. Chris and Scott were amazing
Ah! Damn it Scott!
The river takes everyone✌️
Driving stoned and drunk in the day listening to this album brings back so many memories.
Amazing...
I was in the 8th grade when this album came out. Will always be one of my favorites
Lyrics
Yeah,
I could hide in the calm
Of the eye of the storm
And never blow away
Yeah
Well
I'm a young man
With a knife to my back
Some things never
Seem to change
Nowhere to run to,
Nowhere to hide
Sing the song or
Keep it inside
Bought the farm,
But the farmer done died
Sing that song,
Sing that song inside
Yeah
I wish I could
Live in the dream
That I fly on the tarred
And feathered wings
Well,
I'm losing a game of reality
Dice where the dealer
Never ever pays
Nowhere to run to,
Nowhere to hide
Sing the song or
Keep it inside
Bought the farm,
But the farmer done died
Sing that song,
Sing that song inside
Yeah
I wanna be as
Big as a mountain
I wanna fly as
High as the sun
I wanna know
What the rents
Like in heaven
I wanna know
Where the river goes
Yeah,
I could hide in the calm
Of the eye of the storm
And never blow away
Yeah
Well
I'm a young man
With a knife to my back
Some things never
Seen to change
Nowhere to run to,
Nowhere to hide
Sing the song or

Where the river goes
Where the river
Where the river
I wanna know what the Rents like in heaven.....masterful

What an ending to a time piece album
scott rocks lets keep on drinking rest in pease scott
It builds. My god, it builds.
"Sing that song" part sounds like Jim Morrison
Among combat pilots, "bought the farm" is a euphemism for having crashed and died.
Hats off!! How can you beat this? No downsides to this track
He’s badass he was the coolest one
Yes never blow away.
Hope the River laid you in its gentle sway..and the rents not to high in heaven..
RIP Scott
Easily, dude... Weiland and company paying tribute to Alice in Chains.,, incredible
They were two peas in a pod
A true rarity in the music world, where you can put the cd "Core" in and play it from start to finish and every song is good. Truly rare.
KICK ARSE FUCKING SONG \m/ \m/ RIP Scott Weiland \n/ \m/
Change the playback speed to x1.25!!!! Harder and faster
This is what separates them from the rest
I'll keep pushing my love.
Along my lines.
congratulation and thanks
I wanna know what the rents like in heaven...
I appreciate his music and how it was a soundtrack for my youth.it is truly a blessing in 94'for a outcast in a small town.it brought me strength and bonded friendship.wish things were more sacred like in the 90s.
I swear, for every good rock musician there is, there needs to be a therapist assigned to them...rip Chris
Great song.
Where the levee goes
changed my life
best stp album...everything after sucked... I do like a cpl velvet revolver songs... but this...is my favorite stp song... makes me wanna get high af...and travel...
Love that grimy guitar sound. Bright but punctuated when necessary. Robert does the bass so complimentary.
I'm fuckin high
Back to the Primordial Etheric Vibration ...But why do I remember this song as Where the River Runs....?
Three “l’s” of real estate, man....location, location, location
Scotty is probably getting killed with that stuff...you know there’s nothing g rent controlled within a half mile of the big man
Up the river of life? How far will I be allowed to go? Lol!
If any of you ever have any Cabot products my great aunt and great uncle own the farm that cells to Cabot. In Vermont.she works her but off she owns 17,000,000 in land
