Stone Temple Pilots - Too Cool Queenie Lyrics
There was this girl
Who lived not too long ago
As a matter of fact I think
She lives still
She knew she could do no wrong
That we all knew
She would always crash the party
It was no surprise
It was for her
Too Cool Queenie
There was this boy
He played in a rock-n-roll band
At saving the world
She said he could do no right
So he took his life
His story is true
It's ok cause what goes around, comes around
It's all right cause what goes around, comes around
And now this girl,
Yeah she got real famous
And she made lots of money and
Some of his too
But still she thinks she can do no wrong
Just playing those songs
She's all too cool

Stone Temple Pilots Too Cool Queenie Comments
RIP Scott Weiland, this is the only truly great song written about raging transsexual Courtney Michelle/Michael Love. The drag queen name is so perfect, "QUEENIE", haha!!!! " "She" would always CRASH the party": indeed, with that shoulder width, Mr. Love is crashing everything!
This song is sooo underrated
Vastly underrated and overlooked album. STP was at the top of their game here.
Major Elliott Smith vibes on this one
He wrote about it openly in his book.............Courtney is a terrible person. It's always the bad people that live forever
Scott weilands book?
Chad Mulligan not dead and not for sale, yes his book.
stp is amazing
Shangri-LA DEE DA is one of their best album. ♪ ♫
the last seconds of this song links to the beggining of "Regeneration"
That was a great song as well.
Such a different and great style here. They were really amazing
This song is amazing. My favorite song off of Shangri-la Dee Da.
I remember hearing this song when it came out thinking it was about Courtney Love. It's funny though because I really didn't think about the lyrics until after so many listens and then it dawned on me, who else could this be about? I always wanted to get that confirmation though, but I forgot about the song, came back around to listen to this album again, and now I'm here checking on the comments and of course about everyone is saying it's about Courtney and Kurt.
Fuck yeah Scott & Fuck you Courtney
the musicianship and harmonies, and chord progressions are just insane, next level... I'm talking on the level of Queen
How many dis songs have been written about Courtney Love at this point?
Just watched a video about it myself, I made a comment that they missed this song in the list. Interesting fact hollaback girl was written about Courtney.. :)

Alot...NIN, Foo Fighters, Her former band before Hole, Gwen Stefani, and many others.
Into Your Schtick by Mudhoney (My Brother The Cow) was Mark & Steve's take on the skanky cunt
@Jean-Francois Leblanc Courtney was jelly it seemed.
Starfuckers - By Nine Inch Nail.
Professional Widow - By Tori Amos

...stupid radio stations don't push the good tunes. ...they choose what they wanna shove down ur throat. ..
Why about Courtney? It looks like it's about Yoko. John Lennon was trying to save the world, she got famous too (like CL, I know) and she has money.
Also, parts of the song are arranged as a Beatle song : "toooo coooool quueeeeenie", that sounds like the Beatles.
Who knows...
One of the lines is "he took his own life". Unless you think John Lennon summoned his own murder using telepathic powers and thus committed suicide, it can't be about Lennon. Kurt Cobain on the other hand did commit suicide. And Scott was known to have been close with Courtney at one time. I wonder what she did to piss him off, because this is definitely about her. I'm glad too, this song rocks. The chord progression in the bridge sounds especially like Nirvana.
It's about Courtney:
"The most distinctively non-love song on Shangri-La
Dee Da was “Too Cool Queenie,” written with Ms.
Cobain in mind. Mary and I happened to run into her
in New York at a time when she was feuding with
members of Nirvana. In an offhand fashion, I told a
fanciful version of the story of her and Kurt"
Take from Scott Weiland's autobiography, Not Dead & Not for Sale
@pape37 I didn't take it literally. I mean, it's poetry.
I thought that part was a reference to the Beatles. The Beatles was part of his life and Yoko was always there giving her views and then he disappeared from music business.
PS: why did you say that the chord progressions sounds like nirvana? :S
Definitely about Courtney and Kurt.
remember him
awesome song. love all of Scott's songs
one of my favs STP song, as many is telling here. This kind of groove was their most precious peculiarity
STPs most underrated song
R. I. P
it's ok cause what goes around comes around
damn straight...
This song is about Kurt and how Courtney's personality drove him to self-destruction, and how Courtney's fame and achievements are all due to Kurt's efforts. Weiland amazes, as always.
Kick together and fucking ... did not surprise me, Love fucks with everyone. She's good, but she's overrated, but she should fuck well... I bet almost the guys who were in bands in the 90s, 00s fuck her. I can see why Cobain felt attracted to her! now getting married and having kids with her LOL he should have ended up with Pj Harvey.
After Kurt killed himself Courtney Love and Billy Corgan hold up in a hotel and shot dope for a week
@Kevin Whiting Corgan was already fucking her before Cobain, during the time they were together and after Cobain died. Everyone knows this, even Cobain himself.
@elninjalaranja what difference does it make? Pretty much everyone hated Courtney.
I heard the song was about how Courtney killed Kurt
It is @plasticvenus
STP channelling Queen at points helps make this a great song.
¿Is about Courtney Love?
Scott said in his memoir that he wrote it about Courtney and Kurt's relationship
Underrated as FUCK! one of my favs
This story is true...
