Stone Temple Pilots My Second Album Comments
the secret song!!!
Scott was a wonderful crooner!!!
This is a song written and sung by Richard Peterson, released 1985.
Found this song when I first bought purple. Had it playing in my ‘90 mustang and was standing outside of it talking to some friends. It started playing and we were all like WTF?! This and the hidden track on jagged little pill.
Brilliant Song. Kudos to STP for shrewdly buying it, too bad they made it a secret song. Kinda cool in a 90s alt rock way, but kinda dickish. Love the band. But the plot thickens fellow STP fans. Here's the kicker... it's not Richard Peterson singing. It is a guy named Eric McKaig. Thus, not Scott. But Scott could totally croon like this. Wild stuff. Here is Eric McKaig FYI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhwm1aVfLUc
The first time I heard this I was high as a kite look LoL
🖤🙏
Wut dummy says Scott is not singing this?
I always thought this was Scotty goofing around but this is actually a guy named Richard Peterson that did the song. And if you Google Richard Peterson the second album, his album cover does look like Johnny Mathis LMFAO
I remember listening to this back in the day (the special track) that kicks off in your brain for no particular reason at all, or maybe for a good reason!? Another "Lounge Act" to enjoy, brought to you by Grung
I found this song because of my classic detective skills when I was a young teen in the 90s...On the back of the CD there is a picture of a birthday cake that says "12 Gracious Melodies", yet there is only 11 songs on the track-list...Well, my brain got to workin' hard, and I was the first one who discovered such a song on the STP Purple album...I also discovered the RHCP hidden track "I'm a Little Pea" the same way, and "I'm Going Crazy" on The Smashing Pumpkins Gish...That, I can tell you!!!
Im a little pea wasnt a secret song on my copy of one hot minute
This is not Stone Temple Pilots, this is a guy who is a huge Mathis fan, he finances his own albums. Once STP listened to his records and found this song, they thought it perfectly fit the album and it fucking does. They arranged paying him 10,000 dollars each million records sold. It sounds like Scott's voice but it isn't, he sounds similar in his Christmas records though. No doubt it is a lovely song.
I FREAKING LOVE THIS AND STP!
The greatest hidden track of all time. What a great surprise when you first find it on Purple.
Weiland singing?
Ike I would think so? Maybe if he were a lounge singer that’s what he would sound like.
*Los putos amos*
How tho? How can they put a song on the album that isnt theirs? I just learned this in February of 2019. I bout the album when it came out!! Fm-whole-L.
Richard Peterson.
that slammin' piano chord at the start...bone city, baby...
So funny on this album ....years im not know that was on the end on the album....than someday im was going to the toilet and come back and think WTF ..THE CD ALBUM IS NOT FINIST YET LOL.RIP SCOTT .....♡
brendan o'brian singing=)
This track is like a mint after a great meal
Damn bro that couldn't have been said any better
A quién le hace cover Stp?
What's not to like?
Playing as I wind my '97 Audi A4 Quattro 5-speed up to 90, synchromeshing as all the pieces get hot and working, blurring the world into a stream of seemless beauty......
thats beautiful man - I almost cried re reading that !
I used to dread hearing this song at the end of STP's "Purple" CD, because my dad cracked up uncontrollably when we first played it. Now I just can't stop laughing when I hear it! Now I know where the "12 Gracious Melodies" on the cake on the back of the CD came from!
I admit my stupidity, I've told people for years (I meant bet people for yrs) saying this was Scotty n the boys back at Pilots Temple but I was Stoned....
This is such a fun song.
I love that last song
Love this song. It has stuck with me all these years. Still sing it out loud sometimes but no-one knows what I'm singing, but i don't care.
I can't be the only one who thinks this is actually a brilliant song.
You certainly arent...its amazing.
You're not bruh
It's VERY groovy!! We discovered it the day we got the CD back in the 90's when it came out.
Nope I am on the Gracious train haha this is awesome.
You're not the only one 👍
The second album ... panpaaan
The album cover doesn't look like Johnny Mathis
Anything looks like Johnny Mathis with the drugs Scott did. God rest his soul....and Johnny Mathis....Wait, Johnny ain’t dead...yet!
The album cover of the album that this song originally comes from is what he’s talking about.
Faith No More randomly shows up.
Mike Patton loves this
No I have always loved this
Gotta test evidence
Mike Patton likes this because he can do it. Different.
Hey STP fans. If you want the story about how this song ended up on this album, be sure to watch the feature documentary on the man who wrote and performed the song -- Richard Peterson in BIG CITY DICK: RICHARD PETERSON'S FIRST MOVIE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuh1sf5K1Y0&lc=z23wxttipuzxfp33wacdp435szs01tjut2wretbucptw03c010c
OK I admit it, you got me...
Love this one from the end credit album
Ok seriously, who is actually singing here?
SignatureRarity though this is Richard Peterson, have you heard Scott's Christmas songs?
SignatureRarity you're in for a surprise :)
Adding to the discourse, this is Richard Peterson from Washington state. They paid him 10 grand for this song, and an additional 10 g's for every million copies sold.
@Homey Iommi true facts! Really cool album too!
I'm not sure why people keep insisting this is Scott Weiland I always thought that too that he was goofing around. No I actually have a copy of the 1985 album by Richard Peterson called the second album and this is the first track off of it. This song was made eight years before that CD was released. Google that shitt
Johnny Mathis! LOL. For Mathis fans, this album has his style. I'm getting this reference over 20 years late.😂
I've been trying to find this for years.
Man all you had to do was buy a used copy of "Purple" from a thrift store, listen to the last track, and wait a few minutes...
If you're looking to get a real copy of this song the actual guy that did the song is named Richard Peterson from Seattle Washington it's on a 1985 album called the second album. Hope that helps my friend
Does anyone know where to find the music to this, like an instrumental version? Or even how to play it?
Many idiot on YouTube say that it is singed by Scott so I had to research about this dude singing the hidden track
"singed"? The night classes in English aren't working.
Marcy Gladhand Sorry for that. Irregular verbs are difficult to remain. Who sang this song
Richard Peterson is the name of the singer.
I thought this song was "Candybars" part of "Kitchenware & Candybars." Didn't know this was a separated song!
lindo <3
i wish i could like this vid 600 times
You can! All it'll take is a little over 30 hours.
<3 this song... hell, I love everything STP did. RIP Scott. :-(......................
This song makes me feel like I'm at a cheap casino with a bunch of old ladies who are wearing awful perfume while drinking crappy cocktails and eating expired shrimp....love it!
Blue haired old ladies...
For real!😂😂😂 this is probably in my top 10 if not my top 5 favorite STP songs.
... that was the idea.
You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! BTW the cover of the this second album is from a packet of heroin lol and the album no.4 is actually a slang for heroin
classic
This is the only STP song I like.
one of my fave tunes!!! I saw Scott 3 times live, 1rst time on their 4 tour, 2nd time (Memphis in May fest )Shangri la de dah and 3rd Velvet Revolver Contraband.
What about And So I Know...that is my fav
THIS IS THE BEST STONE TEMPLE PILOTS SONG
EVER :)
Of all the recent musician deaths, this one hit me hardest. How INCREDIBLE he was live, huh?
It's not an STP song though
Does Richard Peterson do anything else? Obv. he was pals with STP but I'm wondering if he had a recording career of his own.
That is Scott singing.
+Cristen Jablonski-Carothers It is Richard Peterson
Is the dog in your profile picture yours? 😮
No, it's a picture I found on the internet. That face cracks me up!
No, it isn't. Do your research, dunce.
No, it's Richard Peterson hehe
The actual name of this song is "My Second Album". This song was actually performed by Richard Peterson.
This song cracks me up for some reason I listened to it on my dad's cd
God how old is this comment.
It happens.. hehe
Your father was a title holder at the pimp'$ ball® I would likey surmise...He is a good and ur blessed to have him as a father!
I mean it tells you how old the comment is.......... 4 years.......
Is this at the end
+StonerCaravan076 Yes, it is! :) It's the hidden track at the end of 11. Kitchenware & Candybars.
Thanks, haven't heard this in 15 years
