I'm a massive Roses fan but only discovered this song relatively recently we I bought Sally Cinnamon on CD. Just brilliant, beautiful. A real hidden gem.

With regard to what I have just posted. The train actually crosses the Morecambe Bay sands to get to Barrow. I also know of the bullying ('exposed hired hand') prick who attacked Ian and threw him out in a headlock, as he also threatened other musicians there (including me). The train line also passes by yards from the club to the station down the road (can you hear it calling). The town is naturally ashamed of what this guy did in 1986 to Ian and he is not typical of the great people there.

Seems this was written in a train on the way home after SN's worst ever gig in Barrow where a club committee man assaulted.Ian. Whenever I hear anyone say Ian Brown cant sing I play this tune and laugh. One of several examples of an historic band's earily brillance, you had to of been there at the time. It is as brillant as the day it was first released.
