I have one simple rule for remakes, it has to be as good or better than the original. If you can't be as good or better than the original, then what's the point? This happens to fit into the the "better than" category. Fantastic interpretation.

I spent 2 yrs at the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa. Thank God for that place and all the people who work there! They encouraged music therapy! Every night, especially after a rough day, I would listen to this song, followed by SRV's Riviera Paradise! Would lull me into a perfect night's sleep!

ilovemypiano This was the first version of this song I'd ever heard. When "Nothing Like the Sun" came out, I did not know that this was a Jimi Hendrix song first. So this one got cemented as my initial impression of how this song should sound. And of course, sung in Sting's incomparable voice, it's sublime. I'll always love this one most of all.

It's a fantastic solo, and the sax solo by Branford Marsalis is something. But I love everything in this, the drumming, the funky bass lines and Sting's voice.

Great version! Seen him live in Wembley back in 1987 or so, and it was preformed so damn well.

Sting made this tune accessible to everyone. Incredible arrangement, version, guitar solo....my favorite.
