Stewart, Rod - Last Summer Lyrics
Sipping a sangria with a girl named Julia
Hot Jamaican sand beneath our feet
She purred like a cat in a Panama hat
She said my passport picture was unique
I said I did impersonations would you like to see
Then suddenly she disappeared
like I feared with another guy
Love always seems to let me down
Can be found anywhere around
The carnival had passed
and my heart was beating fast
All these married women, it ain't fair
Nervously I said would you like to come to bed
Instantly she recognized my insecurities
Changing subjects quickly I agreed
Then suddenly she disappeared
like I feared with another guy, oo baby
Love always seems to let me down
Can be found anywhere around
Nowhere around
The tourist had all gone, winter's coming on
The hotel chambermaid didn't seem to care
Sharing a pina colada we broke into laughter
I'll never know how we made it up the stairs
We spent the night together
and she woke up in my arms
Kissed me tenderly and said goodbye
Then suddenly she disappeared
like I feared with another guy, oo baby
Love always seems to let me down
Can be found anywhere around
Nowhere around
Love always seems to let me down
Maybe I'll wait until next year, next year, next year

WITH A JAZZ STYLE, WITH A GIRL,SOFT LIGHTS,RED WINE IN THE AFTERNOON SATURDAY, ENJOY THE LIFE...FELL SO GOOD
This song reminds me of being at a Sunday night party at the Bundy's(Peg & Al). Unlike how they really lived, there would be food & drinks at their house with music(this song). Peg would introduce me to Melanie Chartoff, and the rest is left up to ,well, you know! Hey, I didn't/don't have a life, but I have a good imagination...

Lyrics and Melody combined so well.
Stewarty (God luv him) has always been considerably more successful with women than the diffident and self-depreciating lyrics of this song would suggest. ("No Shit, Captain Obvious", I can almost hear you say! lol.)
'Last Summer' is a good track, and Roderick Stewart sings it with conviction - even though the lyrics have no relevance whatsoever to his own life.
Came home from Vietnam in November 1970 and bought my first Faces album with Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Ronnie Lane. From that moment on I was a fan of Rod's music. From Faces and Maggie May to this very day I've enjoyed the sounds of the ageless wonder.
Finally I found you. I still think of Cheltenham when I listen to you. Thanx uploader, tantissimo!
