Stewart, Rod - I'd Rather Go Blind Lyrics

Something told me it was over
when I saw you and him talking
Something deep down in my soul said "Cry boy"
when I saw you and him out walking
I would rather, I would rather go blind girl
than to see you walk away from me child
So you see I love you so much
I don't want to see you leave me baby
most of all I just don't, I just don't want to be free

I was just, I was just sitting here thinking
of your kiss and your warm embrace child
When the reflection in the glass
that I been held to my lips now baby
revealed the tears I had on my face
I would rather, I would rather be blind child
than to see you walk away from me
Baby, baby, baby I would rather go blind
than to see you walk away from me

Rod makes the best covers ever , even better than the original ( I'm afraid to say) , maybe because of his funny Scottish accent or simply his crispy pure rough voice ...who knows ? Hhh but yeah still great .

I love Rod Stewart's version of this song!  One of my all-time favorite songs.

    F.... A....

Lol, this is the original! Can you find a different version? As opposed to a cover?

    F.... A....

Yes, Don't you know that Rod Stewart was not the writer or the first one to sing this song? "I'd Rather Go Blind" is a blues song written by Ellington Jordan[1] and co-credited to Billy Foster and Etta James. It was first recorded by Etta James in 1967, released in 1968,[2] and has subsequently become regarded as a blues and soul classic.

@Florena Avila Well said and great knowledge! 👍

  14. N.... B....

Love this version by Rod Stewart.
This was Etta James very best song.
    Much better than her over-played
    and overrated "At Last".

It’s The Faces. One of the best bands of their generation. Rod had a deal to do a few solo albums but they are basically Faces albums.
