Stewart, Al - Lori, Don't Go Right Now Lyrics
Lori, don't go right now
Now that you've come this far
Lori, you don't know how
Close you really are.
It's up to you to let it go
Put the past behind
Out of sight and out of mind.
Lori, you're never gonna see
Behind the untried door
You know it doesn't have to be
The way it was before.
You're not the only one who found too soon
The more you stand to lose
I've been inside your shoes
So Lori, don't go right now.
I know you just take anything on trust
Why don't you open up and show the way you feel?
What's there to hide?
What is it that's inside of you that you seem so unwilling to reveal?
It's not as though
I'm asking for your secrets or your soul
You need a hand to hold
So Lori, don't go right now.
Lori, don't go right now
Lori, don't go right now.

Stewart, Al Lori, Don't Go Right Now Comments
So let's just take it slow,
It's not as though,
I'm asking for,
Your secrets or your soul ❤
You have no idea now
Simplemente impresionante. Lo tiene todo
And the prize for the best synth track of the 1980s goes to....
Wonderful song , the classic synthesizer, the sharp guitar riffs, al Stewart’s voice and the bass line holding it all together
Al's voice makes all of his songs flow smoothly.

Wonderful song by a wonderful singer
TO ALL AL STEWART AND PETER WHITE FANS
PHIL KENZIE The legendary sax soloist on all of Al Stewart's hits
will be appearing at the upcoming "once in a lifetime" concert at The Royal Albert Hall on October 15th. This concert coincides with the release of Phil's CD, " A Night With The Cat" which will be available for purchase.
A tribute to Al Stewart's artistry, it is an instrumental version of the magical lyrics of "The Year of The Cat". which will be enjoyed by all on this very special night.
Everyone who tries to widen the knowledge of people about Al Stewart beyond (the splendid) Year of the cat and (the radiofriendly) On the border deserves credit and a big hoorah. Idem with Gerry Rafferty, who made soooo much more good songs except Baker Street !
Sounds like he used a $89 casio keyboard for it!
Beautiful song from Al.
Al tell us all of your wife girlfriend kids and hetaroseual family life you have?
I actually like the synth sound. It's kind of a snapshot in time-admittedly not very classic or pleasing, but the 80's was rife with that kind of DX7/Juno 106 ice to the ear sound. Al Stewart has album after album of terrific pop gems. I never lose interest.
PERFECTION!!!!
Tks for this song, one of my forever favorites !!! Love Al, he always is on my mind. Please, anybody knows that he´s on the road, o singing alive? Im from Spain, let me know. Tks.
First, thank you all for your kind comments and I gotta say I have another favorite from this album: "Rumours of War". What'd you comment on that one?

Loved Time Passages and Year of the Cat ...... this song is written by Al in conjunction with his regular partner Peter White. Released as a single in the UK in 1984 but sadly, in spite of decent airplay, failed to chart. Nonetheless a superb song that deserved to be a hit. Well done Al and many thanks to hammertoejoe for an excellent video!!
davidatheist, the Gerry Rafferty song could be Don't Speak Of My Heart from the album On A Wing & A Prayer, a far better song than Baker St
Music penetrates and resonates in perfect unison with ones soul
Re: daddyb's comment about the keyboard sound. I agree, but it's the sound he used throughout Russians and Americans. Not the best, but I chalk it up to the 80's.
It's still a very nice song. For another lesser known gem, check out "Sampan" from the "Between the Wars" album. And of course, "End of the Day" from Time Passages.
This wasn't on the original LP. It first appeared when Russians And Americans was released on CD. It's an awesome song. Peter White was still playing with Stewart at the time.
DallasHammster ..... it was on the vinyl I bought when the album cam out in Ireland at the original release.
The European and US versions of this album had 2 songs that were not released on the other version. In my opinion we in Europe we got the best choice of tracks
I've listened to Stewart on/off thru the years and just heard this for the 1st time..What a pretty and great words/music..Really under rated artist..jm
@daddyb60056 yeah the keyboard sound is not the best, but the melody line is unique
@davidatheist I am also looking for a song Gerry Rafferty released around 1991, it's the style of Baker Street without the famous saxo alto

@storm1626 Great I gotta listen to Fogelberg's song, thanks for writing!
Great Al Stewart song. Thank you .
One of his best. Try listening to a similar song from Dan Fogleberg called Scarecrow.
Sorry storm I just don't see similarities with fogelberg "scarecrow dream" + it's different tempo, but I guess we all have a different ear. But happy listening, you have great taste, Stewart&fogelberg, wow, 2 of my favourites!
What kind of keyboard are they using.? Sounds great. Al has never been one to let his sound get old and its no different here.
