Ok, I see this conversation going nowhere good. Having differences of opinions are one thing and I appreciate the passion but the language is not acceptable to ME. It can only lead to worse comments. First, I do not know how I let this pass but it did. As you can see, the rebuttal that it did get leads down that path that I just spoke of. Any more comments that further fuel a fire will resort in removal of the entire post. This channel WILL NOT become hate and anger filled over something as simple as a difference of opinion. The rhythmic change he made to the chorus ENRAGES ME. It takes away so much of the appeal and just sounds so.....square and boring. SW is an amazing musician but goddamn did he drop the ball here

It was Babbitt's very first recording for Motown. He had been working in Stevie's touring band when Stevie called him in to do the recording. He also had Babbitt play on "Signed, Sealed, Deliver (I'm Yours)." Another piece of bass playing genius!
