Every day I want to fly my kite,
Every day I want to fly my kite,
An' every day I want to get on my camel an' ride.
Oo yea
Every day I want to shake your hand, yea, yea, yea,
For in the world makin' me a better man,
An' every day I want to get on my camel an' ride
Oo Baby
And when the day is through,
Nothin' to do, sit around groovin' with you,
And I say it 'cause I love having you around,
And I say it 'cause I love having you around. Yea
Everyday I want to be your friend, (be your friend)
'Cause you have stuck with me through thick and thin
An' every day I want a smile in your lovely brown eyes,
(smile at your lovely brown eyes)
Oh yea
Every day I'm gonna give my share,
'Cause I know your gonna take me there, (hey, hey)
An' every day I want to get on my camel an' ride, Oo
(get on my camel)
And when the day is done,
Nothin' to do, spend all my time just loving you, (oh, yea)
An' I say it 'cause I love having you around, mm Baby
And I say it 'cause I love Oo having you around
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yea
Yea, yea, yea
An' in the end I know you'll be with me,
'Cause you made my soul so free, (so everyday)
an' every day I wanna get on my camel an' ride, yea
(on my camel)
And when the day is through,
Nothin' to do, spend all my time just lovin' you
An' I say it 'cause I love yea having you around.
(love having you around)
And I say it 'cause I love having you around yea, yea, yea
An' I say it 'cause I love having you around (having you around baby)
And I say it 'cause I love (can't you hear me people?) having you around
(can't you hear me people?)
And I say it 'cause I love having you around
(Can't you hear me say it? Can't you hear me say it baby?)
And I say it 'cause I love having you around
(An' I say it, I say it, Oo Baby, baby, Baby baby, baby)
An' I say it, (say it, say it, say it, Baby, baby baby)

How did he know her eyes were brown???
Truly one of God's gift to mankind!!
Have not heard this in many years!!!😃😃😃 What a great song!😁
Stevie's milestone that began a string of game changing recordings.
The hook is reminiscent of Earth Wind and Fire's Yearnin Learnin.
This song is incredible full of love.
I was born 83 I been a wonder fan but just got hip to this song this year lyrics are to real I thank God music n a safe place with love thank God
His album cuts are classics...
this was the sound of every sitcom theme song of the '70s!
Released Date : August 19, 2007
Published on Sep 29, 2007
With this song, 21 year old Stevie brought to the world musical mess of his mind, which became absolutely groundbreaking and life-altering for the people. ''Music of my mind'' - the freshest and one of the most groundbreaking things on earth
Great song
If you're wondering where funk music came from, look no further.
+Troy Howard Well you certainly should look further, but this is some headie funk for sure. "Maggot Brain" and "There's a Riot Goin On" came out in 71. "Superfly" 72, "Curtis!" 1970, "Hot Buttered Rum" - 1969, "The Meters" - 1969. JB was putting out funk as early as "Cold Sweat" in 1967. IMO Sly's "Fresh" from 73 is the bees knees and cant be touched with a ten foot pole, except for the atom bombs Parliament dropped starting with "Mothership Connection" in 75. Funk music really came from the distinct New Orleans R&B of the 50s stemming from guys like Professor Longhair, but Funk as we know it, was paved in part from the albums listed above. And Stevie, for sure. This was definitely ahead of its time too, and reminiscent of funk of the early 80s, Zapp's "More Bounce for the Ounce" case and point
First song done wirh Moog synth...Maybe Baby Came next. Like Larry Graham plucking a bass change music forever. Prince's firat commercial release was patterned after multi layered tracks as he did all music like Wonder did here. Amazing to be so good AND innovative!
What about Chris Jasper when he use the Moog syn from the 3+3 to Harvest of The World albums. As a matter of fact Stevie and The Isleys used the Malcolm Cecil and Robert Mangeuloff production team.
@Catrell Amos I think Josef Zawinul of Weather Report used their TONTO synth on the Tale Spinnin' 1975 album also.
The first was Keith Emerson
Congratulation Stevie ,you cain`t be beat..
Every day I wanna fly my kite ... and I want THIS to be the soundtrack!
Face facts, peeps - there's Stevie ... and then there's everyone else. True fact.
yeah my eyes are brown
I can't reply under the comment that I'd like to here, because of this stupid Google + crap, but anyway,....The trombone on THIS song (played by Art Baron), and the guitar on Superwoman (played by Buzz Feiten), are the ONLY instruments on the entire album, that are not played by Stevie.
Can listen to Stevie for hours, and I do...LOL
This is the first song in album(Music of my mind). With this song began the wonderizing mind blowing of the world
levan beriashvili agree
SELLS IT SHORT? STEVIE IS A BONA FIDE GENIUS.
Everyone should have some stevie wonder in their life. Even God owns a few of his mid 70s records.:)
even when she's messing around....he likes having her around...even when she's messing around....which is very often"
i got all his albums on Spotify
Im sayin...I just loved having you around....(^_^)!!!
Bahbahbahbahbaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!
He was only 21 years old when he made this album !!! Whoa!
Fuckin freakin scary genius he was
The preceding was put on tape ... to let you all know ... that I say it (ha!) 'cuz I love ... havin' y'all around!
DIG IT!
I sang it to my first girlfriend in 1972 Dr. Mimi Dalton
Love him he is my father!!
To Johnnie Walker 23, I can't thank you enough for posting all of this great Stevie Wonder music. I was just a youngster back when some of it was released but now at a younger 60 this music still has a message and it still rocks.!!!!!
The Beatles were the best in rock but when it comes to funk, Stevie Wonder rules.!!!!
Stevie brought musical ''mess'' of his mind, into the game. I think, he mixed all the genres, and also added new genres. He stand above everything, especially when it comes to 70s
time to buy a camel ..
quick, before she takes the hump...
Industrial. Strength. FUNK!
@MichiganMade i always liked that line too!
@bassmanjoe Yes... they were the best and most inspiring. This album blew half my little mind at 11 years old..but Beatles @ Sgt Pepper blew the remaining half around 12 or 13 years old.. But of course, Rock & Funk...Apples and Oranges.
People say the Beatles were the best? I'm not so sure about that.
Beatles were very basic
every day I wanna fly my kite & every day I wanna fly myyyy kite...& every day I wanna get on my camel & ride.lalalala babababa
What do you think Stevie means when he sings, "...get on my camel and ride" Huh... Stevie may be blind but he knows a 'big ass' when he feels it - LOL Stevie's a genius.
Just groove after stone cold groove. Music of OUR minds.
CLASSICK!
@dlanodrelda calling him a genius sells it short.but i agree he is was and will be one of a kind!
This was the first of the new Stevie
endless441 This was when he said I'm doing me or I'm walking so they let him do his thing. Then look at the run he went on in the 70s-80s
most talented musician/singer-songwriter of the 20th century, BY DAMN FAR!!
I <3 STEVIE
i like boys a lot so this totally appeals to me.
@acerin123 ...that's extra cute!!!!!!
THIS ALBUM was a life changer for me! Thank you Stevie!
Thank you Stevie. This is a mood changer, can't help smilin!!!!
@camcandy79 I think it may mean that he just wants to bask in the loveliness of his intended, and he would ride on a camel to do it...some of us would ride a donkey, or a horse, or a motorcycle, or a car...you get the idea...like riding in the wind, enjoying existence....
THIS IS TOO FUNKY FOR WORDS.
@acerin123 - That's a nice thought. But these cats out here are too far off into hip hop to even come close to feelin' this powerful Stevie Wonder vibe. Good luck.
Stevie always makes me smile ;-)
i think stevie gots the most positive comments on youtube!!!
@dbastard1977 Ok, anyone of any concequence. Who used it first?
@acerin123
awesome. did you get one and if so, did he? :)
The intro sounded almost like "Sunshine, Go Away Today"
@iampeekay
money well spent..
I'm crazy about this song... Stevie has a tremendous creativity
LOVE this song
@acerin123 ok i will lol
I wonder if he was the first to use the talkbox or the bag?
Peter Mayer I think Sly was the first. But Stevie picked it up and scored a touchdown with it.
I just saw a vintage video with Pete Drake on slide guitar using a talk box...must have been mid 1960's
Talkbag was first used by blues cats early 60s! . it plugged in the spare speaker jack.
Everyone, Sing this to the one you love.
Ahhhh man!!
I'd forgotten how much I love this song.
When it was out, it was my 'sho-nuf' jam. This song makes me remember all the musical reasons I love Stevie Wonder.
I'm forever grateful Steveland Morris established his mark in music history.
He changed the whole game - set musical precedents for generations ...
Note to byrd1nypa:
No, I did not, amigo; "Music Of.." came out in early 1972...and "Talking Book" (which I *did* purchase right upon release date) came out in late 1972.
For the record, I made it my *mission* to collect as many Motown LPs as could in the '70's 80's & 90's..I had a total of 1,500+ on ALL the labels (like Rare Earth, Soul, Tamla, Prodigal, Gordy, Hitsville, etc.) till they all died in a fire (Albuquerque, N.M.) in 1999.. :-(
Then you missed Stevies album, Talkin Book...
AMEN to that!!!
The first "New Era" Stevie jam I ever heard -- after the days of "Signed Sealed Delivered", "Fingertips", etc. And I was - and *still am* blown away by this UBER-MEGA-ULTRA-RAVE-FAVE!
Thanx fer it, m8...
this is a perfect example, of how you could be so in love with someone, you just want to be in and around them everyday. How you can't think of nothing else but them. I love this song!!!! i love you stevie wonder!!!
Why does it have to mean anything? This is America-It doesen't have to make sense
I remember hearing this song for the first time in the 70;s, and Stevie's the first artist that I ever hear to use the talk box!! Stevie is a genius!!
Stevie is the man! He always brightens up our music theory lessons in college :)
Great tune - lovin' Stevie! Click my username to check out a song I made sampling Stevie's 'Happier than the morning sun' from the same album... it's called 'Morning Sun'
You're right. that's for people who have limited knowledge of music intruments. Stevie and Herbie was using vocoders long before Roger Zapp. Nice try for those who think otherwise...but they would be incorrect...lol Good call.
you talk about FUNK!!!!! This song is STANK! I love this tune! I can play it too...hee hee.
sing it stevie show em how da sang stevie.
gotta love that wonder groove
on my cannondale flowing thru brooklyn crossing some water to the city and just chillin in a city park eating fruit and looking at the lovely sisters in the spring la la la la -every day on my camel baby ridin
All hail the mighty Stevie Wonder.
He really played all them i seen him play drums this is great stuff if thats the case, just like paul did on his new album, and old some too
its not that he played all the instruments because some people do that and its still wack, but its that he did it and it came out great
The man was what 21, played almost all the instruments, wrote the tunes, the words-what's that overused word that DOES apply here: GENIUS.
First Choice did a very nice cover of this....
No one like the Masta Blasta jammin, mon! lol
