SRV by far the best guitarist of all time. Hendrix, Clapton, Prince, none of them even hold a candle to the talent Stevie had.

Best guitarist probably not, you cant really say that but he was one of the best Texas blues player, top 3 easy. But I can think of at least 10 guitar player that have better technique and skills . If it wasnt for Hendrix, albert king, Freddie king or Sam Hopkins there would be no SRV. You can see in interviews and when he played with them just how much respect he had for those before him and that's what made him who he became. RIP stevie.

I keep wondering why that's a 'contest' these days, SRV was great, and was a fan of other greats, the beauty of music is that you can have many greats, and it doesn't take away from any of the others.

Damn near impossible to pick a favorite when it comes to his music, so I just kick back, close my eyes and let them roll ❤️

i work on my own fusion of classical and jazz piano pieces for hours everyday on my guitar, but i always listen and study the blues as well for that touch and feel, especially one of my very favorite players, SRV.
